Struggling up a steep hill in the rain pushing a carriage built pram laden with son and shopping I urged my small daughter walking behind to "Chop chop" (naval family background). She replied, rather crossly "I am chopping!!".....

Complaining about my baby weight and how fat I felt, my 4 year old daughter said “ you’re not fat mummy, you’ve got big skin “ smile

my 11 yr old GD, when asked what she had for Christmas listed a few things then said, 'this year Nan I had quality over quantity'.

When my son was five he fell at school. When he got home he rolled up his trousers to reveal a grazed knee. "Wow" he said "if I'd known it was that bad i would have cried".

The most recent one that still makes me chuckle; I had complimented my SiL on a lovely meal and my Granddaughter said “Yes Nanny my Daddy is a good cooker, he’s a better cooker than you are” Truly put me in my place!

My then 3 year old granddaughter used to say she had sprinkles in her feet when in fact she had pins and needles.

My first ever post on GN!
My friends GD said, on finding out my friend is 52, "gosh nana, that's........big"!!

My 5 year old DGS said to me quite seriously, 'it's lucky you're our Gran because you're actually called Gran'! What a coincidence! I did explain that other people called me Jane but he wasn't convinced.

I was sitting on the sofa with a faux fur throw around me and my just-two year old granddaughter. I said: “This is just like a snow leopard isn’t it.” My granddaughter looked at me solemnly and said “ No grandma, it’s not a snow leopard, it’s your blanket.”

A few days ago my wee grandson said
“Back in the olden days when I was at nursery.”
He’s 8 but obviously feeling his age already. My husband and I just couldn’t stop laughing. Any one else have grandchildren who say amusing things?
