My shy Granddaughter

I’m so glad I went to a girls’ school, and my granddaughter does, too.

She’s always been on the shy side and prefers to avoid as much of the ‘banter/bullying’ that goes on around school. I don’t think for one minute she meant to flirt notanan2, she and her 3 friends keep out of the way by helping staff in the library at lunch times/breaks as the boys wouldn’t be seen there.
I agree about the discipline being lacking in our schools although the school are very quick to investigate any problems reported to them.

In the 50' we had something called discipline-----a word you hear less and less nowadays !

I agree it’s probably a chat up line but it was also her way of making clear that at 14 she has no interest in him or any of his mates. She likes her male friends as mates and fellow gamers not as potential boyfriends. Good for her I say.

I was happy at big school from 1951 to 1956 Greyduster as teachers then ruled with a rod of iron and there was always someone " keeping guard " in the playground. It wasn't Borstal, honest !
