So sad

He’s only two - bless his little heart. I can assure you, all his new Xmas toys will distract him - I think Skype and FT are good inventions, but for little ones who don’t understand, it’s difficult . My little 2yearold grandson was watching a cartoon on TV and was trying to look behind the TV to see if Mickey was there ?

I just assumed that if it wasn't talked about, he would forget. I wish he would forget! Hopefully all the new toys will distract him.

I'm OK for me. I am choosing to stay overseas and finish my contract, which I know is my choice. Poor little boy though. He has been angry with me on Skype calls and doesn't understand.

There are so many in the same position Gagajo. It is what it is unfortunately.

Oh my, so sorry. Heartbreaking for both you and your grandson. Gentle hugs xxx

I was supposed to go back to the UK for Christmas, but all flights in from where I am have been cancelled. I am sad, but I'm an adult. I can understand. But my poor grandson. I lived with him and his mum, my daughter, until August last year when I moved overseas for work. He is only 2, but knows I was coming home. His mum has stopped mentioning my return recently, once it started to look as if it couldn't happen.

Today, he asked when I would come and thought he saw me outside and is asking for me. It's breaking my heart. I can cope with missing him and wait for a bit of delayed gratification. But the thought of that little boy missing me, kills me.
