DGS1 presented us with a “best ever grandparents” card at a Grandparents’ Day school assembly once, then announced that he hadn’t made it for us…. At least he had the grace to blush. 
Well done, Anniepa . I’m sure the accolade is well deserved.

Our GD, when about 4, announced that 'other granny'' was her 'favourite'.
DIL was horrified (I did lots of school runs, unlike her own mum).
I laughed and said I would bear that in mind when next making brownies for the GC. 
Other granny didn't bake either.
Just had to share that I have just been voted Best Ever Grandma with 100% of the votes. OK there was only one voter and OK I was the only contender - but I always strive to take the positives.
