I am looking to get a car seat for my 13 month old grandson for use at least once a week. He is a chunky monkey and my dil has just started him seated forward facing. There are so many models on the market now. I think I would prefer the iso fix as they seem to be much sturdier than those attached by a seat belt. I was looking at the Halfords own brand ones around £100 that cover a few stages but wonder if they are of good enough safety and quality compared to the more expensive brands? Any advice would be great. Thank you

Halfords car seats are fine, take your car along to your local one and they will advise you what seat fits your vehicle best.

Check with your GS’s parents that they are happy with the one you are intending to buy beforehand.

Just ask the parents what they would be happy with....I never bought my own... just borrowed parents when needed....now they are older just have 3 booster seats

At 13mths I’d be keeping him rear-facing for much longer. It’s reportedly five times safer for babies and small children to be rearward-facing for as long as possible, until their head and neck is much stronger.

There are car seats that swivel so the seat faces in either direction and also aids you in lifting them in as it can also face the door.

I’m sure all car seats must comply with safety standards to be sold here.
I’d ask the parents what model they’d prefer you to have and go with that.

We’ve just purchased
Jovikids ISOFIX Car Seat 360° for 40-150cm Baby Childs, Rotating Car Seat for Newborn 0-12 Years,ECE R129/E4, Fixations ISOFIX, Top Tether - Black
From Amazon
0 - 12years for our granddaughter
I think they must be rear facing until at least 15 months and longer is now recommended

I would recommend getting it from Halfords as they offer a fitting service
