Hi I joined a couple of months ago and have just become the editor of the Liverpool and Wirral site! I was looking for things to do with my little granddaughter when I discovered Gransnet and that the local site wasn't active. I'd love any Wirral or Liverpool people to come and join me on the local site as well as here as it would be lovely to get a local community of Gransnetters going.

Thank you, shysal. A clue? Well, there is a clue to my old username in my new one.

shysal Mon 21-Nov-16 22:38:00

Welcome back Cunco. Can you give us a clue to your previous identity? A male perspective is always good to read.

Cunco Mon 21-Nov-16 17:39:47

Hello again. I am a Grandad of 3, all girls. I joined and left Gransnet a long time ago under a different username so I know that men are in a minority. I will probably post sparingly and avoid topics best left to Grandmas.

Hello Nannyzero, welcome to Gransnet flowers. I too give mainly money to my grandchildren. I do like them to have something from me to open on Christmas morning , so also buy a few cheap items. I hope you will find plenty to interest you on here.

Nannyzero Sat 19-Nov-16 13:58:59

Welcome SueinHull flowers. The local sites are not well used. It seems people prefer to interact with a wider range of members on the main GN site. The best way to reach GNHQ is to email on [email protected] They are always needing local editors.
You sound like a busy lady, GN should be right up your street! Enjoy!

grannypiper Thu 17-Nov-16 19:03:32

indinana GN wanders as much as my mind

grannypiper Thu 17-Nov-16 18:59:20

sueinhull welcome, you sound a very busy lady smile on the green bar at the top of the page it says local click on that, you can use a different name on the local site if you like( so nobody will recognise you). enjoy gransnet

grannypiper Thu 17-Nov-16 18:55:43

heirofthedog welcome. love your name by the way. only suggestion i would make is to ask the son and daughter in law to let you know your lovely grandchild has arrived before they tell the rest of the world on facebook. sorry caps lock is having a moment

Not sure how to contact admin but I would like to contribute to my local group site, Hull. I am having difficulty posting or commenting, any ideas? Thanks in advance.

SueinHull Thu 17-Nov-16 14:15:49

Hi everyone, I am Sue, a Yorkshire lass, 55, living in Hull and have 4 children. I keep chickens and have 3 grown up children and a 12 year old at home. I would love to be a "Grannie" but nothing happening yet, they are still concentrating on their careers. Found this site very interesting with lots of great topics. I love photography, blogging, cooking and gardening and belong to a Travelling Mail group. I am married to a Lebanese man who owns his own gardening supplies shop. Love to travel and experience different cultures. Have a great day everyone.

Hello GC123. I was sad for a long time. GN is a great help. I hope your sadness passes. Wishing you fun and laughter comes your way again.

I don't think Iam68now can really be 68 at all - some of the comments seem to have been made by someone much younger than that who is as fit as a flea, has a substantial income and no grandchildren (or even children)

'Why are there adverts for 'Dry Nights' on a grannies' forum? That's not how you see us, is it?'
Perhaps because some of us may have GCs overnight and find them useful?
Now asking myself why on earth I'm answering such an irrelevant and badly written post!
I wonder if anyone has been banned simply for being thoroughly unpleasant.
Is this really the best use of your time?

Im68Now Wed 16-Nov-16 09:16:45

Why is their adverts for "Dry Nights" on a granny's forum, that's not how you see us is it.

Mamasasq Tue 15-Nov-16 19:11:28

Thanks Shysal for your welcome. My husband has just joined a forum about classic cars and he really enjoys it, through commenting & through reading others' comments. So I thought I would try to get more involved in this one. It's a very active forum with some really interesting topics x

Welcome to Gransnet Azie09 flowers. Now that you have more time to spare it will help to fill waste hours!

Azie09 Tue 15-Nov-16 14:56:47

Hello, I joined a few years ago but didn't really have time to read and never posted. I seem to have found that time now and find many of the threads stimulating and interesting. I don't have grandchildren, I do have a daughter of 31 and twin daughters of 25 so I'm hoping that one day a few GCs will appear. Quite a worrying world for those children though, I do hope we find solutions to the many problems facing the world. Lots of wisdom on here!!

shysal Tue 15-Nov-16 09:40:12

Hello Mamasasq, welcome flowers. I waited quite a few years to become a grandmother, but then 6 came along in rapid succession (from two daughters). Now you have broken the ice I look forward to seeing your future contributions to GN, enjoy!

Mamasasq Mon 14-Nov-16 19:56:56

Hi I have been a member on Gransnet for a while but never posted anything until tonight. I'm a wannabe granny. I have 2 sons, one of whom is married & there are rumblings about starting a family - so, fingers crossed.

shysal Mon 14-Nov-16 14:52:27

Hi GC123, welcome flowers. I am sorry you have sad reasons for joining. If you feel able to let your feelings out by starting a thread, I am sure you will find support and advice if needed. Please remember that this is a public forum which can be read by anybody, so be careful about names or specifics which may identify you. Here is a (((hug))) if it helps. Take care.
