Thank goodness for Gransnet.

wot Sat 13-May-17 17:57:23

I think I might go to bed and stay there!

soop Sat 13-May-17 17:49:30

Charleyg wasn't it always thus? When, as a sensitive teen, I went out dressed up to the nines, I didn't meet any handsome young men. When I was all mussed up, guess what...the guy I fancied something rotten stopped by for a friendly chat.

wot No matter what, you will survive and you will thrive. A new beginning awaits. Please, do not give in. A** h** are ten a penny. You deserve a real gentleman (much like MacS) sunshine^Us lot^ are rooting for you.

It's that time of day. I must log off and tidy myself in readiness for the Saturday evening G&T.

I wish one and all a pleasant and peaceful weekend. I also look forward to catching up with you tomorrow. smile moon

Charleygirl Sat 13-May-17 17:48:01

wot I thought about house sitting but then I remembered Sophie. A lot depends on where you live as to what is available locally.

If that is his pension you should not have wasted money buying him a duvet. Pity he will not suffer from hypothermia. Please do not help him out in any shape or form unless he pays you for the information and/or help.

wot Sat 13-May-17 17:24:45

I used to do ironing and cleaning to top up my budget but those contacts (and my energy)! Have gone.

wot Sat 13-May-17 17:10:44

Waahhhhh!! Did a test budget today and i'm two thirds short of what I need! Meanwhile the A..hole has had a new printer delivered. He's bought loads of stuff for himself this year, getting £23,000 a year pension. I have survived on little before but have forgotten how. Might have to come off broadband.

Charleygirl Sat 13-May-17 16:49:12

Crafting I was so lucky early am the parcel delivered fitted through my letterbox. I had not at that time found a comb, the postman would have needed a lie down.

Crafting Sat 13-May-17 16:42:14

soop we need you. They can't cut you off again. Have you not told them how important you are shock.

charleygirl why is it that whenever the house is clean and tidy, my make up on and hair done, no one comes. If I potter about doing nothing much and don't bother tidying myself or house you can guarantee someone will ring the doorbell. An unmade up me is not a pretty sight..I'm not sure the postman has yet recovered from the last time grin

Charleygirl Sat 13-May-17 16:23:28

soop at this rate BT will be giving you free broadband for life. I will be amazed if you do not have more problems. It sounds like the problem I had with my TV when we switched from analogue to digital, mine has never been the same since and even yesterday I kept getting "no signal". You will just have to go with the flow and not allow it to upset you but I know that is difficult because like me, you are addicted to your machine.

soop Sat 13-May-17 16:09:21

Charleyg A short time ago, guess what? Yep! The internet connection was lost for about five minutes. I could barely breathe. Is it too much to ask that we may be spared more disruption...hmm

Charleygirl Sat 13-May-17 15:17:20

soop I also am a sensitive soul and on the whole stay here. I only join in when I know 100% I will not get my head bitten off.

I am having a slob's day off- I only hope that nobody rings the doorbell! At least my washing is drying with the odd sprinkle of rain.

soop Sat 13-May-17 14:54:23

Staggers into kitchen. Thoroughly fatigued after trying to play catch-up on FB/emails/and...^you lot^. I'm just so thankful to be back. The days were long when I couldn't visit the kitchen.

wot I did a double take when I read that you've bought a duvet for you-know-who's birthday. He doesn't deserve you. I shall bite my lip and not disgrace myself by being too outspoken. flowers For you.

MawB Flynn is growing so fast. The photo of him wearing a sun hat is super special. I'm relieved that Paw was able to attend the garden party.

bags I love the photo of the baby in a shopping basket. What a sweetie.

Although I've done my best to bridge the void between pre and post internet buggerations, I have no idea how I shall become totally au fait with all the news. It goes without saying that I'm extremely fond of you all and am chuffed to bits to be able to be part of our kitchen at long last.

Crafting Sat 13-May-17 14:24:41

soop you're back ??? hurrah!!

maw I was thinking about you and paw yesterday when I heard about the NHS IT problem. Thank goodness it didn't affect paw's treatment. Feel so sorry for alll those who have had their treatment postponed.

Jud glad to hear Georgie is mending, albeit slowly. (Is that how you spell it confused)

Izabella whatever is up? Hope you are ok. Sit and have a brew in the kitchen for a while. It sounds as though you need someone to talk too.

MawBroon Sat 13-May-17 13:36:43

This sounds like a family crisis Izabella?
Breathe deeply and feel free to share if you would welcome a shoulder or two flowers

soop Sat 13-May-17 13:28:56

Izabella What's up? Try to remain composed. Share with us lot if it helps. smile

soop Sat 13-May-17 13:26:54

wot What's the latest on that individual who has enjoyed making your life unpleasant? Has he gone? If not, why not?

annsixty stay here with us lot in the kitchen. I have learned a valuable lesson...I now understand that I'm far too sensitive for the majority of forums. I shall stick with [cake] and pleasant company.

Izabella Sat 13-May-17 13:26:39

Flying visit. Turmoil here. Anyone live in the Welsh borders who can advise a good place for us to move to? Bungalow required.

soop Sat 13-May-17 13:17:05

Good afternoon to you lovely lot...I wander into the kitchen thinking - perhaps I can at last catch up with all the goings on. Think on! I cannot beleeeeve that there has been so much activity since I logged off yesterday. What's a girl to do! At this rate I shall be glued to this computer for the foreseeable.

I am not complaining. Far from it. Thank you for all your kind messages. Please will you be gentle with me if I appear to wander around in a trance. I'm not as young as I used to be. wink

Very funny, MawB

N&G Still having lots of fun with the boys. I love Jackson's sense of humour. How about a tree house in your next garden? I so wanted one when I was a child.

CharleyG honest to goodness...how do you remain sane? You are made of strong stuff. I admire your resilience.

Lovely upbeat news of little Georgie girl. Thank you for the update, Jud sunshine

oldgoat please refresh my befuddled memory...where is it you'll be visiting in Kintyre? The sun has shone for a very long time. Sadly, today is grey. A few showers have refreshed the garden.

Gaga It's good to have you back. Sorry to hear that you've been poorly. Was it the dreaded lurgy that has been doing the rounds. Almost all our friends succumbed and they felt drained of energy for a very long time.

Charleygirl Sat 13-May-17 11:18:22

That is definitely for me! Tara nearly knocked the computer over yesterday as it is a fabulous source of sorting out her itchy patches.(I do not have a laptop.

She allowed me a lie in today until 8am so that is a first for ages. She did not want to go out, just wanted cuddles so I was happy to oblige. When I return I must find a house like mine where I rule the roost.

MawBroon Sat 13-May-17 11:06:08

And I found this for Rory Soop

NanaandGrampy Sat 13-May-17 10:29:01

That made me chuckle Maw . My daughters friends hold a Eurovision party every year and have a high old time making fun of the whole thing.

I know Charley but it's just those drop in times which will be impossible. More forward planning and longer visits rather than just coming to play for an hour and have dinner. Jackson, with an eye to the main chance has already 'suggested' our new garden needs a climbing frame and he and Grampy poured over the Internet yesterday selecting just the right bribe one .

Charleygirl Sat 13-May-17 10:24:04

I think that an early night and my book beckons this evening. I cannot remember the last time I watched it.

MawBroon Sat 13-May-17 10:08:13

Specially for NanaandGrampy but most of all Sam grin
(And I suspect many more of us )

Bellanonna Sat 13-May-17 10:04:24

You're a cup half full person, cg, that's for sure!

Charleygirl Sat 13-May-17 10:01:41

No sign of a builder yesterday and no phone call until mid evening when I received a call from his partner (not living together at present) to tell me that he had "collapsed". I immediately thought of hospitalisation but no, he is living at his mum's and she has been looking after his swollen painful knee. He has a torn meniscus and should rest it but no work, no pay, this is the end result.

He has an OPD appointment next Tuesday, I hope until present IT problems that he is seen. In the meantime I live in a midden but what is new? The Scots will understand!

Lovely to hear that Georgie is slowly returning to normal- at least incontinence is marginally more controllable during spring and summer months.

N&G when you leave it really is going to be a large gap in the lives of Jackson and Cooper- I do hope that they make the most of the next few weeks.

The sun is shining here, it is very pleasant.
