Gosh, what a garden but more importantly so glad you both made it!

MawBroon Sun 07-May-17 22:30:21

The scaffolding ?? - and that is just the back - the same at the front at least made it easy to spothmm

Swanny Sun 07-May-17 22:34:18

Maw so happy for you that you had a good day. The pics are beautiful x

MawBroon Sun 07-May-17 22:38:38

It is amazing, fortunately I am also VERY fond of my SIL(and not just his ability to provide DD and the DGCs with a lovely home) and they admit they pinch themselves each morning when they realise it is theirs, even although it is a money pit and will be a project for years and years and years....

MawBroon Sun 07-May-17 22:39:51

Just one more!

MawBroon Sun 07-May-17 22:43:34

Reading back through today's posts they are wonderfully surreal!!
Thank you for restoring my faith in the eccentricity good heartedness of GN smilesmile

grannyqueenie Sun 07-May-17 22:49:18

That's such good news, maw, I'm so glad you and Paw got there in the end and had a lovely time. What an amazing property and garden, a really beautiful family home where many memories will be created in the years to come. x

Swanny Sun 07-May-17 22:50:19

oldgoat I'm longing to know what was in your mystery bag from the freezer. Was it a smooth chocolate mousse or a blended liver consomme? grin

Jalima1108 Sun 07-May-17 22:53:57

So glad you managed to make it today Maw

It was a lovely day for lunch in the garden, we did the same here but without the bouncy castle. However, some of the garden games made their first appearance of the year!

MawBroon Sun 07-May-17 23:29:02

For anybody missing their Flynn fix..
Sis in law (66) nearly had to go on the naughty step for going"over the top" ( whatever that means) on the bouncy castle . I have never been on one sad

callgirl1 Sun 07-May-17 23:29:22

So pleased you got there MawB, and that you had such a lovely day. That`s some house! Puts my scaffolding to shame!

cornergran Mon 08-May-17 00:43:29

OK, the mystery of the disappearing post has struck again. I previewed and then pressed post. It went somewhere........

A précis, well, all I can remember. So pleased for you and pawb, mawb, beautiful garden, fabulous house, great photo of Flyn but above all you got there. Wonderful.

I'm with swanny, do tell us oldgoat, what was it?

charley, there are no words. Sounds a fairly rickety tunnel to me but then better than no tunnel.

Good news about your OH wot , well if he goes through with it and doesn't end up next door to n&g hmm.

Hope there was an alternative to the lamb, galen. I've just realised it will be Thursday before I need to cook this week. How good is that?

I really, really should be asleep. Have a poorly Littlest tomorrow, no today, and will need to feel rested. I think it will be a day for lots of cuddles and runny nose colured clothes if you see what I mean.

Right, lets see if this one works.

oldgoat Mon 08-May-17 06:43:39

And the mystery bag of frozen food was.....................................................................Beef stew!
I'm letting OH eat it all by himself. Pity that Oscar doesn't get 'human food'. It looks like a proper dog''s dinner.
maw I've got serious garden envy. Glad you had a good day with your family
Did you go on the bouncy castle too?

NanaandGrampy Mon 08-May-17 08:43:22

Morning all !

WOW ! That's some house Maw and of course I too have not only garden envy but view envy! That was one of my non negotiables - I wanted a view not hemmed in by other houses and despite it not being as lush as your DDs it has potential at our (hopefully) new home .

It looks like you had a smashing day and that is what life is all about for me - the smallest memories. A day in the sunshine, family, food and the grandchildren. That will keep you smiling for a while yet.

I'm glad Paw enjoyed it too.

Forgive me Oldgoat but I would probably have let my OH eat it also smile it would have been an egg on toast dinner for me !!

No news is good news here today - so we are going out for a little retail therapy!!

Hapy Day everyone x

MawBroon Mon 08-May-17 08:53:51

Oh oldgoat I am so relieved!! TBH it looked suspiciously like something else although why one would freeze that would be a mystery.
N&G what makes DD's new garden unique (to me) is that it backs onto a private gated park with a lake, so although only 3 miles from the centre of the city, is as quiet as the depths of the country.
I did go a bit OTT with the pics - sorry, but after such a bad week (actually ever since Easter) and worse Saturday, it had seemed out of the question.

Bellanonna Mon 08-May-17 08:59:54

Not OTT at all. Just lovely to drool over. Again, so glad you were both able to go and actually sit in the garden.

Charleygirl Mon 08-May-17 09:21:54

I am so pleased that you made it yesterday and both seemed to relax and enjoy it. You were so lucky that the weather was good and you could dine outside. Grace I hope enjoyed her doggy time at home, having a long snooze.

Thank you, I was in need of my Flynn fix, he is gorgeous. For the nicest possible reasons I may put him on top of my cat and dog list, those to be re-homed that is. He will be with Grace and he would love that.

I hope that you can both take things quietly today and relax.

I am waiting for two of the builders to come- it will be a long day because the electrician is coming this evening, after a day's work. My neighbours will be so pleased. I will be chief cook and bottle washer but if it gets this lot out of my house by the weekend it will be well worth it.

Bellanonna Mon 08-May-17 09:46:50

Charley just how do you manage? I feel depressed just reading about it!

annsixty Mon 08-May-17 09:47:01

I hope Flynn borrowed his sun hat from his female cousin He would be mortified in later life if photographs are shown of him in a flowery hat.
I imagine all family Ch......s's will be spent in that magnificent pile. It will be like all Dickensian C..s's rolled into one.

annsixty Mon 08-May-17 09:48:10

The best ones of course, not the workhouse type blush

Charleygirl Mon 08-May-17 10:00:50

Maw It will be a beautiful house, I am so glad that I will not have to clean it!

Bella I said with a straight face yesterday that it is a good job that my state pension was paid in last week.

10am and not a soul in sight. That is what drives me close to crazy.

downsized Mon 08-May-17 10:16:58

Charley you have my utmost sympathy. At present I have two electricians here to connect my garage to the electricity supply. I've been messed about by so many others who said they were coming but never showed up. This has been going on for almost a year. These two said they were coming at 8.30, so I was up early all present and correct. They showed up at 10.30, but I'm just so happy to see them and hope, at last, to be able to use my garage.

I do hope yours will soon be finished and you can be stress free. It really does get to you, I know.flowers

MawBroon Mon 08-May-17 10:21:04

grin We don't do sex stereotyping annsixty!! He may well be the next Grayson Perry, who knows (with the appropriate income if DD and SIL are lucky!)

kittylester Mon 08-May-17 10:28:19

Just a flying visit from me for now.

Lovely pics, house, garden and Flynn Maw. Hope Paw is ok today and not paying for his excursion. brew

Good luck to those of you with builders especially Charley again!

Enjoy your retail therapy N&G - I feel a bit overdue in that department!grin

Waves manically at soop. See you all later.

NanaandGrampy Mon 08-May-17 10:29:13

Not over the top at all Maw I loved seeing the pictures and Fly n of course !

Charlie you have the patience of a saint !! I know that by now I would be cleaning my gun;-) ( that's not a euphemism for anything rude by the way smile !!
