MawBroon Sun 07-May-17 22:27:01

We made it!!
Paw took a while 2 1/2 hours) to get going but we got there and had a lovely lunch in their amazing garden and Paw probably had more fresh air than he has had in the last month.
Grace was OK here smile and it has just been a lovely day.
Pics of some of us having lunch in the garden, Flynn making a dash for freedom(?) and little people having fun on their bouncy castle smile,

Galen I had to because otherwise he would not have arrived home and I really did not want him sharing a bed with Tara- she has standards.

Jalima1108 Sun 07-May-17 19:32:36

Anne with an 'e' is posh'
mine is without an 'e' therefore unposh

No word from Maw so I hope that means that she and Paw made it to the party today! Fingers crossed as it has been a lovely day for a party.

I live up a hill and have been standing on a chair waving to soop but no reply, I think I must just be too far away for her to notice.

Am feeling sorry for myself has had to let down my son who was doing plants at boot sale. Had a chronic bout of trouble and feel absolutely awful ?so no baby sitting. Naughty granny .

Bellanonna Sun 07-May-17 18:27:43

Hope we hear from maw later.
wot I laughed out loud!

Bellanonna Sun 07-May-17 18:26:39

Unposh. No middle name. Or does a Confirmation name count? It's Anne with an e. I don't use it though.

Galen Sun 07-May-17 17:32:08

Thought it was usually male dogs that 'mounted'

wot Sun 07-May-17 17:14:41

Not mounting, ha ha. Moulting!!

wot Sun 07-May-17 17:13:48

Oh maw, I hope Paw and Grace are feeling better. My Sophie does an awful lot of ?sleeping these days and is mounting like mad! I have to vacuum the floors every day.
My partner has found a flat he likes the look of in a lovely village called Holt (norfolk) I don't know what to make of it all really. I know he will miss Sophie but not me (until he realises how much I do for him!)

Don't pay for the petrol in advance!

Charleygirl Sun 07-May-17 16:58:07

One builder came today, using a sweeping brush as a crutch/walking stick. I have lent him a proper walking stick but he is using it incorrectly-that is his problem. He did a little work but obviously was incapable of much.

I have fallen out with the boss big style as everything appears to be my fault, me hiring the electrician to do the c**p job for example even although he was brought to my house by the original owner of the building firm.

The boss knows I am not going away and will not shut up so he has told the invalid to stay here until the work is finished and I am happy. He is not paying the invalid, neither am I so that may concentrate his mind to do the work efficiently and rapidly. All I have done and it is a one/off is to buy petrol and that way I know he will come to work. There is light at the end of the tunnel.

Swanny Sun 07-May-17 16:49:35

Galen that was a laugh-out-loud one from Alexa today grin

thatbags Sun 07-May-17 16:26:17

poshgran, that event sounds fabulous. I'd love to have been at it too.

Galen Sun 07-May-17 16:24:57

Got out the lamb I was going to cook for dinner. Although within its use by date it was very off!
This is not the first time I've had bad meat of the Ocado brand. I'll not use their brand again.
They have agreed to refund money and a £5 voucher as well, but still!
Has anyone else had problems with them?

Greyduster Sun 07-May-17 16:17:53

Well, the kitchen is galloping on again. And soop thinks she has trouble keeping up! I have had a very grumpy sort of day today. My leg was playing up again yesterday when I walked the short distance to the supermarket to get some bread. This afternoon, having immersed myself in an uncharacteristic burst of domestic activity, I said to DH that I was going to put on my walking boots and walk along the river. Boots on, walked a couple of miles so as not to kick the a**e out of it, and felt as if I could walk another two. No leg pain. The mind boggles. DH came along, but he was not up for walking far as he hurt his toe falling over the vacuum cleaner this morning. What a pair of crocks. I hope we get ourselves sorted out before next weekend as we are off to Oxford and some walking will be required.
kitty reading about your potting activities, are you planning to roll your own?? Glad to hear your menfolk's team had a successful end to their season. DH was very pleased that he bought his season ticket before his team were elevated to the Championship, but GS's team are in the play-offs. I hope he is not disappointed.
I am now off to finish making some meat and potato pies for the freezer. I will look in again later.

Galen Sun 07-May-17 16:10:06

My middle name is Ann no e

kittylester Sun 07-May-17 15:14:00

Well, I potted geraniums, some herbs, some tobacco plants and two new plants in the 'butterfly' bed. I've ironed (sans tiara - well the bank is shut!) and put away so I'm now in the sun, in the garden with brew - breakfast variety! Actually it's a bit nippy if the wind blows!!shock

DH and DS1 will be back with smiles on their faces as their team avoided relegation and they will be hungry so I'd better do some roastchicken.

I decided to do fondant potatoes as they seem to be in vogue, but got confused by different recipes so it'll have to be roast potatoes again.

I hope both corner and Maw have had happy family days and that everyone else enjoys the rest of Sunday.

Missing soop

Back from the fair...it was a regional Lacemaking, Quilting & Needlecraft show with 77 large & small stands featuring the various Guilds, exhibitions, & trade suppliers. Absolutely dazzling show, lovely to chat to craftsmen & women & so good to see that an effort is being made to actively promote crafts to the young. You could spend a fortune at these types of things but I never take plastic & limit myself to £20 (plus entrance fee) & I've come back with change!
cornergran - "breakthrough smiles" = sunshine peeping out from behind clouds!
maw - no semaphore hills here either; OH is dab hand at Morse if soop can receive! Hope party plans OK.
ann - My middle name's Anne, I pinched your "e".
Nana&G - no tiara when ironing, only worn when working outside so it can be seen!!
Galen - pearls "want to be worn", if you've got 'em, wear 'em - all of them - together!!

Right; need tea, I've been sipping water all day & need a bit of flavour. Lady Grey anyone? (I jest not, it really is my tea of choice)

Hope a bit of sun is smiling on one & all. I'm off to look at my purchases. smile

Galen Sun 07-May-17 13:57:44

Well, I've looked out 1 evening dress and two day dresses and a pair of shorts for my packing. And now I'm exhausted

wot Sun 07-May-17 13:07:23

I've noticed it spelt that w ay on pizzas so it's probably not a German name.

callgirl1 Sun 07-May-17 13:07:17

I have a middle name, but it`s the one I`ve always been called by, so does that make me only half posh?
Hope you make it to the party MawB.
CharleyG, you must have the patience of a saint! St. Charley!
That`s the problem CharleyG, my family are numerous, but none want to journey to Cornwall in the winter months. Me, I`d go anytime! GNHQ still haven`t replied, so maybe they`re hoping I`ll find someone as well!

wot Sun 07-May-17 13:05:31

That's nice!!! Galen

Galen Sun 07-May-17 12:56:56

I remember my aunts singing a song about a Spanish lady with that name
