I thought it was a bungalow?? No?
I actually got given a paper £5 note today at the education centre where I do Art and Design history. I declined politely and asked for coins instead!
(How sad for somebody to spend all that money on AstroTurf when I certainly would rather have a proper lawn.)

I found a money stash in the garage this afternoon, looks like it`s come at just the right time. It`s in a coffee jar, back of a shelf, heaven knows why my hubby, I presume it was him, put it there. It`s a mix of notes and coins, Greek drachmas, US dollars, Spanish pesetas, Cyprus cents, and a couple of coins I can`t identify at all, but if they`ll help the house fund, I`ll gladly hand them over.

Galen Mon 08-May-17 22:26:02

It is a bungalow but they've dug a cellar cinema room underneath and made a play room in the loft space!
I imagine no one will buy it at that price. And if they did they'd be just as common.
The front is normally littered with recycling, black bins, broken rubbish etc. They tidied it away for the photo but it's all back now

MawBroon Mon 08-May-17 22:41:36

That would be a brilliant start callgirl now if the rest of us just dug down the back of the sofa I am sure we could come up with the rest, not forgetting charleygirl's 7/6
Then we could open the cinema and show all our favourite films and have ???instead of ?!

PoshGran Mon 08-May-17 23:03:02

I've got silver sixpences, a couple of half-crowns and two thrupenny bits (ooh-er missus!) will they help?
Has the last Jane Austen hologrammed new fiver been found yet? That would help the fund.
If the cinema's in the cellar we could watch "A Room with a View" couldn't we? grin

Jalima1108 Mon 08-May-17 23:18:17

I've just raided the charity money box and come up with £1.90p - will they take that as an offer?

You can all come and stay as long as you bring cupcake
smile
We could turn the cinema into a games room (or a gambling den).
I promise to clear the rubbish

I'd really love to have anyone of you as neighbours. It's actually a lovely quiet almost cul de sac where everyone keeps their properties nice and tidy. It's mainly bungalows except for the hall at one end that's converted into flats,,and the old farmhouse that I live in part of at the other end.
The present occupants of the property complained we were all elderly and too quiet.
I'm one of the youngest at 72!

Galen Mon 08-May-17 23:29:09

Charlle why not sell up and move here?

Jalima1108 Mon 08-May-17 23:29:33

I was thinking of getting an air pistol thing or a taser
Not legal and a burglar could take it from you and use it on you!

Make your house/flat the most difficult one to break into and it will put a burglar off; they'll go for an easier target.

Alexa
What do you call a grizzly with no teeth?
A gummy bear!!!

Charleygirl Tue 09-May-17 07:07:34

Galen sorry but I am many thousands short, even at London prices. Nobody is going to want to view the house as first impressions count. That is how my rear garden looks but once this lot have finished, all of the tools and materials will be going with them.

I am 73 and also very quiet- they would not like me there but I hope that they move to the noisiest place imaginable and they are kept awake at night. They may appreciate where you live then.

grannyqueenie Tue 09-May-17 07:52:56

Morning all. That house looks amazing galen, shame it's been desecrated by some folk with more money than sense. I've a collection of 1,2 and 5 pences in my charity bottle, but will happily donate them to the house fund...it's a very good cause and every little bit helps! grin Why you would have a lovely property and litter the front garden with junk defeats me, hope you get better neighbours this time round, they'll need money at that price lets hope they have some taste sense too!

Tizliz Tue 09-May-17 07:53:57

Galen have you asked Alexa to open the magic door?

NanaandGrampy Tue 09-May-17 11:38:07

Morning all !!

Hope you're feeling a bit better this morning ann x I think going out is an excellent idea. It will blow the cobweb's away and allow you some space to think your own thoughts without incessant questioning .

I'm sorry Galen but unless the interior is super swish that's not my cup of tea . But I'm all up for purchasing it as a Kitchener's getaway!! I can offer some dodgy old foreign currency, and a whole bag full o old halfpennies with a side filed off !!( My Dad emptied gas metes back in the day and with a side filed off 1/2d made excellent shillings !!! I'm sure they must be worth a fortune now smile

wot you are a better woman than me ! I would take that warm duvet and shove it where the sun doesn't shine for the grief he has caused you winkBut I did laugh at the 'muggins' comment. Its been years since I have heard that !

posh it was more a mooch than a serious shopping trip. I bought new toothbrushes for our house for all the little ones if that helps. BUT I did have a very nice full English smile Serious shopping next week when my oldest granddaughter Laura and I are going shopping for a few bit for our June holiday. We are all off to Somerset and she appears to have shot up !!

Oh I always wanted a taser Jalima !!

Well, time to prep for swimming here !

Happy day all !
