Can't go without two things, firstly galen, you do know Alexa isn't real? I'm starting to worry grin. On a more serious note I hope your daughter in laws scan results are positive and your back settles soon morethan. Apologies to those I seem to have ignored, bit mithered at the minute, normal service to be resumed shortly.

cornergran Sat 29-Apr-17 19:44:44

What a busy, no I lie, manic kitchen today. Interested to read all the messages but sadly unable to reply, other than to say I'm pleased your throat is mending soop, am wondering if charley isn't overdoing the keyboarding and to thank downsized for her suggestion of wine. Hoping the poorly people mend quickly and continuing to wish more ladders than snakes to all.

soop Sat 29-Apr-17 19:27:06

A very warm welcome back downsized Bella that was. flowers

Swanny Very sorry to hear that your injury is worse than you thought. [hugs]

I was hoping that I could finish the day in updated mode. Fat chance! Tomorrow is another day.

Thank you for your company. smile moon

MawBroon Sat 29-Apr-17 19:21:20

Anybody saynthey needed tarragon?
Also dill??

callgirl1 Sat 29-Apr-17 19:11:51

Sorry, meant to say hello to Bella, it`s going to take a while to recognise you as Downsized!

callgirl1 Sat 29-Apr-17 19:10:58

Dearest Soop, thank you for saying hello to David, it`s nice to think that he isn`t completely alone up there. As Kitty says, you deserve a whole box of Magnums! How is your throat today?
We had new neighbours move in next door last night. I just hope they`re nicer than nasty old git who lived there before. They`ve been very quiet so far.

Galen Sat 29-Apr-17 17:23:32

Yes. Alexa is taken over by smart phone when out!
It's rather like the hive system but the heating will be Honeywell.
Couldn't see myself with Hive, standing on a bus, acting like a chicken and embarrassing my daughter!
The lighting is Philips Hue

Swanny Sat 29-Apr-17 17:09:56

Hello to everyone in the lovely new kitchen. I haven't been around for a while as it's been a bit busy here so I've just done a quick scan of events and want to send lots of hugs/flowers (delete as appropriate) to all going through bad times and good.

DGS (age 7) went back to school after Easter on Wednesday last week. I collected him on the Friday as usual and he seemed to be limping a bit but said nothing was hurting. Told his parents about it when they collected him but despite our questions we were unable to discover a reason. He has autism and can't recognise or describe feelings of pain or discomfort. Long story cut short I contacted his GP Monday morning and he had emergency surgery that afternoon. I left the hospital when his parents arrived at mid-day and couldn't stop shaking till I heard he'd come round and was able to go home that night. All seems to be progressing well now but no school yet and most activities are limited for up to six weeks! The poor lad is so full of energy and frustration and we are all exhausted!

Yesterday I had a physio appointment for pain I've been experiencing in my wrist. I'd put it down to arthritis but the physio thinks I may have fractured the scaphoid bone and have to go for x-ray on Tuesday - just what I do not need! Never broken a bone before so have no idea what it feels like but this pain has been getting steadily worse and, from what Dr Google says, it would make sense. Hey Ho!

I'm in for a wine downsized although it will soon be G&T time in the AS household. It gets earlier as I am usually gasping for one but today hasn't been too stressful so I may hold out until 6pm.
it is good to hear from you.

Galen Sat 29-Apr-17 16:35:04

Ah! I wondered what to do with butler, apart from asking him to get me some caviar ( $60 for 50g) and organise a cocktail party for 20 guests?

No one can replace Gary!
Do wish he wasn't the age of my daughter though!

Charleygirl Sat 29-Apr-17 16:32:54

Galen please be careful, at this rate Alexa will be hand feeding you! Helpful that she can switch lights on and off- I assume with a command rather than a timer. When you are cruising could your Smart phone take over?

Welcome back downsized It will soon be vino time here but you are ahead by an hour.

kittylester Sat 29-Apr-17 16:30:45

I know what everyone means about catching up!1 Slow down please everyone. grin

The picture of Persie was taken at Eurodisney and they appear to have hit exactly the right time to visit while Persie still beleives in magic and things like that. She is very, very girlie and was enchanted by all the magical stuff. Apparently, Snow White was wonderful with her too - she showed her all the intricacies of her costume and all the 'diamonds'. They came to tell us about it on Friday and Persie was still awe struck. Bertie, on the other hand, kept saying things like 'Mickey Mouse's face was plastic!'

I'm glad to hear that your mouth is responding to treatment soop.I would provide you with a whole box of magnums if I didn't think they would melt on the journey.

N&G, that sounds like a great result. When do you expect to move?

morethan, just go with the flow - it will all make sense eventually - that's a lie! I too hope that your DiL has good news. flowers

Back later, if DH gets over the possibility of his team being relegated AGAIN! sad

Crafting Sat 29-Apr-17 16:26:20

Hi downsized. Never been known to refuse a wine so I'll join you if that's ok bella.

Crafting Sat 29-Apr-17 16:22:47

You sound quite attached to Alexa Galen. You wouldn't be thinking about replacing Gary would you? hmm

What's going to happen when you go on your cruise and have to turn your own lights on and off? ....silly me, I forgot about the butler grin

downsized Sat 29-Apr-17 16:20:35

Good afternoon, kitcheners. No, I'm not a new arrival, it is I, Bellasnana in a new guise. It's a long story but, basically, the email I originally signed up with recently asked for my password. Needless to say, I can't remember it so clicked on the 'forgot password' option. It seems my 'rescue' email address was my beloved late husband's and I am unable to access his either. So basically I'm stymied, and had to re-register using a different email address. It won't let me be Bellasnana any more, so since I recently downsized, that's my new name. Phew! Sorry for the long-winded explanation.
Anyone for a brew ? Although it's nearly wine time here in Malta grin

soop Sat 29-Apr-17 16:18:30

Galen that pie (when you've baked it) will be a winner. B*** the calories.

soop Sat 29-Apr-17 16:17:02

Okay, Tizliz I shall settle for a Border's chocolate biscuit or two. Pink is the "in colour"...so much nicer than green or brown.

Galen Sat 29-Apr-17 15:54:51

Alexa is very good at turning lights on and off so I don't blunder around in the dark. She will soon be able to control my heating as well.
Now if she could only cook for me as well
I've this lovely recipe for French chicken pie I'm going to cook tomorrow. It's got wine and mustard and cream in it. Now if only my tarragon was up as well it'd be perfect.
Hate to think of the calorie count but feel I need a boost at some time.

Tizliz Sat 29-Apr-17 15:33:56

Unfortunately soop the cake was a little dry and had to be eaten quickly ?

We have just been to The Deer Stalkers Show at the Black Isle showground. I felt very outnumbered - male to female ratio - and over brightly dressed - pink top when everyone else was in green or brown. Perhaps some were in camouflage but I couldn't see them ?

Feet are now tired so time for a cup of tea and a Border's chocolate biscuit

soop Sat 29-Apr-17 14:11:21

Galen dear, have you been slurping Champagne? wink

I'm away to do my own ironing. I'm a devil for punishment. Back a little later.

MawBroon Sat 29-Apr-17 12:52:32

"Mare slissisg" sounds straight out of the Jabberwocky!! (I wonder what Alexa would make of that!!)

Galen Sat 29-Apr-17 11:48:09

That should be more sluggish.
iPad has its own language

Galen Sat 29-Apr-17 11:44:05

Alexa
I took the shell off my racing snail to make him faster, but now:- he's mare sliggisg

MawBroon Sat 29-Apr-17 10:31:10

Just nudge me if when I snore!

soop Sat 29-Apr-17 10:30:30

Good mornin' Maw...good to see you lolling and snoozing on the chaise. Rory won't mind too much...
