soop Sat 29-Apr-17 10:28:49

Izabella What do you intend doing with the butcher when you finally catch him? grin

soop Sat 29-Apr-17 10:27:05

kitty Persie is very pretty little girl. Where was the photo taken?

anno I chuckled when I read your sound advice to wot.

Tizliz Lemon drizzle cake all round. You are a clever/generous/much appreciated Granspal. Just making sure that you give me a huge lady-like portion to scoff nibble with my morning coffee. wink

soop Sat 29-Apr-17 10:20:31

Galen grin grin and yet another grin

Nellie Your wee grandson is adorable. Lovely photos.

callg My throat/mouth is responding to the treatment. I wouldn't say no to a Magnum.
We said hello to David as we drove by Muasdale camp site. It was a sunny day.

Greyduster Three weeks does sound a tad too long. You need two legs. Try to rest it as much as you're able. hmm

morethan2 Snap! We're in the business of trying to catch up with the happenings of this lively/lovely lot.
On a more serious note, I am sorry to hear of your daughter-in-law's problem. I do hope that the news isn't too depressing. How old are your grandchildren? You are needing all the support you can muster. It's easy to say...take care of yourself...but that is a must. Please keep coming into the kitchen. We're here for each other.

MawBroon Sat 29-Apr-17 10:06:04

Don't worry about "trying to catch up" morethan -some of us dozing in the corner haven't managed that yet either! Just enjoy the cupcake and brew relax and let it bear you along when you need support.
I could fill you in on ALL the background info (nudge, nudge, wink, wink) but then I'd have to kill you grin

soop Sat 29-Apr-17 10:05:29

Haha! I've sneaked into the kitchen for the express purpose of trying to play catch-up Fat chance of doing so.
All my responses will be a wee bit guddled (muddled) but I hope to update myself before MacSporran returns and suggests we go walkies.

N&G How about that for a splendid result. I'm chuffed on your behalf. when you're well and truly sorted and settled, us lot will drop by to add pazzazz to the house warming. We know how much you enjoy a knees-up. flowersWe may all become ever so slightly stocious (love that expression.

wot Keep your intentions under lock and key. You are the mistress of your own home and destiny.

Charleygirl Sat 29-Apr-17 09:59:30

wot does he know where the kitchen is? Not that I am bothered if he feeds himself or not. I would prefer he found his way to the front door rather than the kitchen. When he is on his own (sooner rather than later) he may then realise what he has missed for so long- maybe not missed but has not appreciated home comforts like washing and ironing done, and food amazingly appears in the house, cooked and appears on the table.

morethan I also will keep my fingers crossed- very worrying for all. You have to look after yourself as well.

soop I do hope that the antibiotics have kicked in and you are feeling better.

Bellanonna Sat 29-Apr-17 09:45:24

morethan you'll soon feel at home here. You have a lot to worry about at the moment and hopefully the DGC will provide some distraction despite your bad back.
wot no more ironing! I'd let him cook, too. For himself, that is!

Lona Fri 28-Apr-17 23:00:01

Fingers crossed morethan for your dil, I've been wondering how she was doing. Hope your back is better too.
soop Is your throat any better yet, it sounds nasty and painful.
Best wishes to all kitcheners, I've not been in lately but I do read all your gossip ☺
wot The sooner he goes the better, and I hope you're not still doing his laundry and ironing! He doesn't deserve you!! ?

morethan2 Fri 28-Apr-17 22:30:11

Trying to catch up but still finding it hard to follow. I suppose it's like watching a series/soap at the halfway point. Nothing makes sense but you eventually catch up and understand the ins-n- outs. I've pulled my back so moving very slow. Using cold and hot compresses. I hope it works I've got my two granddaughters staying. Their mummy and daddy are off for a scan on her secondary bone cancer tommorow. She doesn't want the children to know she's got anything wrong with her Fingers crossed things are still going well. It's always a worry. Mind you she only has to sneeze and we all hold our breaths. If she worries she doesn't show it. Here's hoping the weather and my back hold out so we can go to the park. Have a good bank holiday weekend everyone.

Charleygirl Fri 28-Apr-17 22:06:56

That young man is gorgeous.

wot you look after Sophie and let him indoors look after himself. He was so mean to you and Sophie when she was unwell- I have not forgotten.

Last week I received a mug tree I ordered from Amazon. It was delivered in a huge cardboard box- I did not like the mug tree, it was too big so I re-wrapped it and took it to a local newsagents who is part of the local click and collect team. I normally use a walking stick but I could not today because of this monstrosity of a box. I was fortunate I could park outside on double yellow lines, took the box indoors with difficulty- another job done.

Tara is resting- she will come to my bed after I have my shower etc for her nightly cuddles. She has now decided to go to her room the minute I switch off my light- she is funny.

Greyduster you must rest your leg or in 3 weeks time you will be hobbling to see your GP again.

My bed calls, good night.

Greyduster Fri 28-Apr-17 21:44:45

soop we would forgive you anything! I hope your throat is improving.
Stick to your guns wot - leopards don't change their spots!
Lovely photos, nelliemoser - our littlies grow up far too fast..... GS and I were potting some bulbs he had given me last week and as he was trowelling soil into the pot I remembered a video we had made of him "helping" grandad to fill some pots when he was not much older than your GS. He's ten and I don't know where the time has gone.
Well my leg and I went to the doctors this morning. We were supposed to be having a day out at Bakewell and thereabouts today but I knew as soon as I came down stairs that I wouldn't be going anywhere fast. Anyway, apparently it is nothing more than a bad muscle strain, but I just wanted to rule out anything else. She said if it doesn't get better in three weeks come back! Three weeks?? I'll go potty! It will be better or else; I'm not good at sitting still.

callgirl1 Fri 28-Apr-17 21:21:09

Soop, I hope that you are feeling alright? We miss you, please take good care of yourself.
I may be going on the prize holiday on my own yet, no definite takers, just 2 sons who aren`t interested, say it`s too far in winter for 4 days. Lynne won`t go anywhere, not heard from Rena and Dawn yet.

Bellanonna Fri 28-Apr-17 19:01:03

Both gorgeous !

Nelliemoser Fri 28-Apr-17 18:08:40

My littlest DGS turned two yesterday.
Photo as a newborn at about 36hrs, and a couple of weeks off two. He is a little sweetie.

soop Fri 28-Apr-17 17:53:51

wot Whatever you do...don't weaken. PLEASE put yourself first. sunshine

soop Fri 28-Apr-17 17:52:35

Oh dear! It's late in the day and what do I find...reams of messages that I cannot possibly catch up with in the few minutes I shall be here. So...rather than skim through and not have the time to respond, I shall retire right this minute and return asap tomorrow. Do you lot forgive me? Aww, I knew that you'd understand. That's what makes you special. smile moon

wot Fri 28-Apr-17 17:45:35

I think he might be thinking "oh, she's not such a bad old stick after all!" But once my trust has gone, that's it. Id rather be alone (as ihave been a lot in the past)and oy haveme to rely on. Used to being skint anyway! No more steak though! Make do with mince.

jollyg Fri 28-Apr-17 17:40:39

@ wot

Revenge is a dish best served COLD.

Wishing you the best

wot Fri 28-Apr-17 17:22:29

Sophie and I enjoyed it too!

wot Fri 28-Apr-17 17:15:04

The atmosphere is quite good atm.....I was the peacemaker in my disfunctional family. I cooked us a fabulous steak diner from steak ifound in the freezer. Main reason is, I needed a good meal. Also, I am naughty and enjoy confusing these horrid men. He had paid for this steak

Izabella Fri 28-Apr-17 15:55:05

N&G fantastic news. awot keep your chin up. -soop how is the throat.
Must dash, need to catch the butcher.

cornergran Fri 28-Apr-17 15:04:49

Totally agree with mawb, wot. He sounds very unpredictable and unpleasant at the moment. Please have a care for your safety.

MawBroon Fri 28-Apr-17 14:45:27

Seriously wot if he is planning to move out, I would be happier on your behalf if he did just that. And possibly before teatime.
I cannot imagine what the atmosphere must be like in your house, but if he is going, he needs to GO.

Galen Fri 28-Apr-17 12:08:13

Didn't get the first line from Alexa. Got it from my senile memory. Apologies to of the immortal bard's devotees

Charleygirl Fri 28-Apr-17 11:59:53

Galen Alexa has not given you the entire sentence- it should be "wee sleekit cowering timorous beastie,* she should be sacked.
