I have been a busy bee today.
I had my regular two weekly meet up and coffee with a fellow GNer which we have been doing for a couple of months now.
We never stop talking and we are more than capable of putting the world to rights if given the chance I can tell you.
Then another friend took me to a garden centre which has a small selection of White Stuff and Sea Salt clothing and an offer of 20% off everything, so I bought myself a very nice WS knitted jacket. Well who could resist an offer like that?

Wobbly I'm so sorry that your surgery could not be carried out. It's a buggeration that you are having to be re-referred. My advice...pack your bags and get away for a wee break. Our pals speak highly of Warners.

Morethan The lady hound will be missing the family. She does look rather lost. She has a sweet expression.

ann I wish that us lot could organise a wee party for your next birthday. Naturally we'd all want to attend and guzzle bubbly...after which, we would tidy up and wash the dishes. You would hardly know we'd been having a riotous knees-up genteel soiree.

Posh I used to be partial to a glass of Lambrusco. Delicious with a good strong cheese and crusty bread.

The photos are really good. We have herds of Highland cattle in this area. Also Alpacas. It seems that they wear a permanent superior smile.

MacS have come into the house. Rory too. What have I done? Not a lot...
Last night, a tabby cat came calling. We have seen it before. It is extremely nervous. Looks in good condition. We're wondering is it Bracken's sister. It's difficult to say for certain. If it is one of Rory's daughters, she has been spayed.

I', really going to have to log off. I feel bad about it because I know that I haven't read every message. If I've overlooked something important, please bear with me.

The sun is shining brightly. The weather appears to be improving. I hope so. Mr and Mrs Oldgoat will be in Kintyre on Sunday.

Look 'ere, you lovely lot...I'm just getting myself sorted after a stressful morning at my pal's house. Elderly family troubles! I'm so far behind with everything that I should be doing here. Honest to goodness, I cannot believe you've all been so busy.
I see that we've some delightful photos. Also, happen to see that Wobbly is back in the kitchen. That made me smile.

You do understand that I've appointments in Campbeltown first thing tomorrow. Optician. Care home. Weekly shop. It will be early afternoon when I get the chance to catch up.

We shall also need a new kitchen extension before too long.

N&G lovely photo of your GD - she looks very poised. We were musing today on our walk through the park how quickly the GCs grow up. When we picked GS up on Tuesday, he said "you have to have a look at my bedroom now it's finished! It's cool!" It is, indeed, very cool, with ultramarine walls and a white frieze and ceiling. Gone is the huge undersea mural with sunken ship, treasure chest, sea creatures and a very jolly whale spouting at the top. "Are you hanging your aeroplane models up again?" I asked. "No", he said. "They won't look right in here now." He's ten. Big sigh. I was talking to my step grandson at the weekend and he was waxing whistful about graduating from uni this summer and how quickly his school and university days have passed. He sounded quite sad.
morethan what you are going through breaks my heart and I find I have no words, but I am thinking about you.

Glad the funeral passed without event Ann. I think my family sound a bit like your neighbour- we're not given to sharing things like sorrow and at some of our funerals you would have thought we were just there for the party. Maybe your neighbours are like that and grieve in private?

Grampy is off at youngest DD building a wendy house today and swimming with the boys this afternoon.

Took our granddaughter shopping last night for some holiday clothes as we are away with them in 2 weeks. She is growing up so fast. We asked her what she would like for dinner an she promptly replied STEAK please !!

So we spent a lovely evening with her getting all her news and then a fashion show of the things we bought. Lovely .

Had a good time. Home tomorrow.
Anne has decided not to come with me in September as she doesn't like more than 7 days cruising. She's too worried about getting used to the luxury?

Just a thought morethan the bloody poor dog may be feeling insecure and disorientated because "mum" is not there, they can be easily discombobulated, bless them. He may also be picking up on your own very understandable stress, my dogs have regularly picked up on my moods in the past.
So give him another Curley wurley and forgive him ?

Horrible isn't it. annodomini to feel so useless in the face of somthing so terrible. I feel sick with anxiety. I'm not ready for another onslaught and I feel guilty for feeling that. When I know it's worse for her and her immediate family. On a lighter note I bought myself a curly worley and the bloody dog ate it. Then it ripped up a blanket all over the garden. Looking after the boys is no problem but this dog...honestly. She follows me round all day with her nose attached to my backside. If I turn my back for a second she's up to somthing. The whole house smells of damp dog after yesterday's downpour, if she decides not to move then come hell or high water nothing will move her and now she piddled on her bedding. Hope everyone of you are well. I'm going to take her on a walk along a long beach. Hope the rain keeps off

morethan2, so sorry to hear the news about your DiL. Your DS must be very anxious. A similar situation seems to be developing concerning my BiL who had an op for prostate cancer a couple of months ago and it seems that some cells have escaped and he may need radiotherapy. My poor sister is beside herself as her best friend also has cancer requiring chemo. I feel inadequate to do anything to help her as I live at some distance and our other sister is on the other side of the globe.

My best creation was a panda cake for one DS's birthday but I think it was all downhill after that.

Hello Wobbly, sorry to hear about your postponed operation and other problems and I hope your operation won't be delayed too long. It does take time to get over a fall, too, it can make you lose confidence and requires extra concentration. I hope you enjoy Herefordshire.

It has plashed all day here, to the extent that builders working on installing car park drainage at village hall this afternoon had to give up 'coz the car park was too flooded for the "crush" lorry to get in. But at least now the puddles are all beautifully joined up & very straight (& 6" deep).

kitty - we think by now our library regulars are either used to the noise or don't come in on Tue a.m. Any "irregulars" giving me "the look" get waved at & beckoned to come & join in
soop - for 15 years I lived in a Victorian, long, curved terrace which faced a river. It was lined with stately lime trees - lovely!

ann - good to know that, overall, the funeral went better than you feared it might. Being prepared for the worst & hoping for the better is a sound outlook in a lot of situations. Also nice that you have been able to be with friendly folk today.

I have been out to a neighbours this afternoon with another neighbour. We spent the first 45minutes discussing our ailments and medication.
I am the oldest at 79 and 10 months, one will be 80 in October and the baby will be 79 in September.

We decided we all needed " putting down"

On the positive side we all lead busy and fulfilling lives and take a very active interest in our GC and in life in general and we all have needy H's who need a lot of coping with. We all also have a sense of humour, so necessary in later life.

The "baby" has 4 GGC and a fifth expected and she is prepared to do one day a week minding as she still does for one.
