being very brave here and starting the new kitchen, not too hot here so I can manage the move OK

Galen Thu 13-Jul-17 17:21:50

Put a patch of hair dye on the mouse next time.

soop Thu 13-Jul-17 16:52:17

Johanna played her match...

soop Thu 13-Jul-17 16:51:33

Hipsy We don't mind mice. Large spiders on the other hand...shock

Tizliz grin Very droll.

callgirl1 flowersand our love. xxx

Johanna played her with spirit. Now that she and Andy are out of the contest, I'm feeling a tad flat. It's only a game of tennis. wink

We're leaving home early-ish tomorrow. If I get the opportunity to come into the kitchen when we return, I shall do so.

Take good care of yourselves and each other. smile [moom]

Swanny Thu 13-Jul-17 16:44:40

callgirl flowers and (((hugs)))

callgirl1 Thu 13-Jul-17 16:11:13

Maybe the mouse that I keep taking off Mia and releasing on the bank out front is the same one?
Today would have been our 54th wedding anniversary.

Tizliz Thu 13-Jul-17 15:58:45

I hate shooting clays, they don't stay still!

Hipsy Thu 13-Jul-17 15:58:38

soop Mouse?? shock

Hipsy Thu 13-Jul-17 15:55:34

Can relate tizliz My claim to fame is winning the ladies cup in a clay pigeon shooting tournament. There were two of us and the other lady left halfway through!

soop Thu 13-Jul-17 14:10:45

Tizliz You have my respect.

Galen grin MacS swears that it isn't. How would he know, I wonder.

Galen Thu 13-Jul-17 13:52:42

It's probably the same mouse!

Tizliz Thu 13-Jul-17 13:52:25

I used to shoot arrows as well, but there is no club near here. Where our workshop was before we could just get 20 yards if we had our backs to the door and the door open between the metal and wood working sections - if you missed and hit a machine that was a bent arrow! Can't do that with our rifles

We have a good rifle club here, only 15 miles away and a 600 yard range about 50 miles away were OH goes once a month. I dog sit - actually I think I am worried I will miss the target and OH is very scathing about those who miss.

After going to the Commonwealth games 3 years ago, where they shot at 1,000 yards, I feel I am not very good at all

I have won the women's indoor league at our club for two years now. But they take great delight in telling me I am the only contestant ?

soop Thu 13-Jul-17 13:01:31

Hugs for you, marydoll

NanaandGrampy Jackson's grin says it all. He's thrilled and doesn't mind showing it.

Once upon a time I had a Triumph sports car and could leap across the door (when the hood was down). I would almost certainly not be able to squeeze myself into such a low lying seat these days. Should I be pushed in...I wouldn't be getting out.

MacSporran found a mouse in the humane trap this morning. He motored to Ronachan (about a mile away) to release it. Same thing happened last week. That mouse went into the hedgerows bordering the beach. He's a very kind man.

A sunny good afternoon greeting to you lovely lot.

Terrific news to hear that your birthday bash was a great success, Ann. The surprises will have done you a power of good.

Maw You and your husband are never too far from my thoughts.
Gaga Your sister will be grateful for your support at this worrying time.

Tomorrow, MacSporran goes to Oban hospital for another scan. The results of which will be known in August. We shall treat ourselves to a the best fish and chip lunch in the West...after the procedure.

Galen Thu 13-Jul-17 12:32:25

N and G both Bags and myself shoot bows and arrows. Sounds like a grannies shootout is possible. Cowboys and Indians perhaps

Jalima1108 Thu 13-Jul-17 12:02:11

Belated birthday wishes annsixtyone smile and I'm glad you had a lovely meal. flowers

I'm glad, too, that PawBroon is feeling a bit brighter

NanaandGrampy Thu 13-Jul-17 11:56:05

I once aspired to a sports car * Grey* now its more a massive SUV , nice and high off the floor with big seats for fat bottoms !!

You are welcome to join us Grey , there will be much excitement I suspect. As an additional rare treat its McDonalds for dinner smile

I'm with you in that a night away always seems to necessitate taking the kitchen sink with us, no matter that there's a perfectly serviceable sink wherever we go !!

I am a new convert to Instagram but nothing makes you feel older than it being your 10 yr old granddaughter who explains how it works and what to use it for !!

Well, Jackson, you are one very lucky little boy! By the look of it though, if I got into one of those now, I would have to be levered out piece by piece! A couple of years ago we gave DS a driving experience for Christmas and he chose a Lamborghini. When he'd done his run and got out, my 48 year old was like a dog with two tails he was so excited. When DH did one a few years earlier he chose to drive the Ferrari 360 and said it frightened the life out of him, but he really enjoyed it. I hope you all have a fun time at the cinema, N&G. Who can resist a Minion movie.
We are spending tonight at DD's looking after GS because they are going to Wimbledon, having been given tickets for the semis, with lunch and tea on the day to boot! Alright for some! We are only going to be there for one night, in order to get GS to school tomorrow, and then we will bring him back here for Friday night, but you would think we were preparing for a siege. I am getting grumpy. This is not - to paraphrase 1066 and All That - A GOOD THING!! We may have to have a rummage in the freezer!

NanaandGrampy Thu 13-Jul-17 08:58:56

Good Morning all !

Its a clear bright morning here and I am girding my loins for the cinema trip this afternoon.

I am hoping for good behaviour from the 3 yr old Anno . Grampy has been known to fall asleep during the opening credits and not wake up till the close so he is no help at all !!

Nonna after Sam's recent haircut his ears are now so smooth and short nothing sticks to them ( which is lucky after the latest grass seed incident) Sadly though, he does not look very spaniel like .

Funnily, I used to shoot too Grey and Tizliz. Maybe we need to assemble a GN Shooting Team??? Could come in handy if the frozen leg of lamb isn't available ;-)

How lovely is your GD ann?? What a lovely treat , and the steak sounded pretty good too. It sounds like you had a well deserved lovely time .

Glad to hear there's improvement Maw , small steps !!

I had to share a couple of photos with you. As you all know Jackson is a BIG car fan. A friend of the family has a Lamborghini Huracan and yesterday Jackson was invited for a ride.

As you can see from his little face it was a huge success and in fact to quote him ' Best Day Ever' !! I love that something as simple as a trip round the block can evoke such joy. Slightly concerned when his next words were 'Do you know anyone with a Bugatti Veyron?' wink

Anyway, Happy day all ....Ill see you all tomorrow if I make it through the movie trip !!

Charleygirl Thu 13-Jul-17 08:05:17

Tiny improvement is good news "Maw". You could do with a day sunning yourself in the garden rather than hospital visiting, it is very draining.

soop so pleased to hear that Rory's athletic abilities, when he can be bothered, are slowly returning. It must be such a relief to see him almost back to normal.

Tara was mumping and moaning to be allowed out around 6.15am today so she is up and away. Such a pity that a magic button does not open a door for her, to allow her to use the cat flap.

kittylester Thu 13-Jul-17 07:43:28

Just popping in for a quick catch up.

Good to hear that Paw is feeling a tad better Maw. Hope the upward trend continues. My friend's husband has been on dialysis for years and is doing very well. He doesn't have the extra problems the beset Paw though.

Sounds like your birthday was a lovely day Ann - hope your head is ok this morning. What a lovely present from your DGD.

About 100 years ago, when DH first opened his hotmail account, his address was ******60@hotmail. it seemed really funny as it was way in the future. It's not so funny now as it's a really long way in off - in the other direction! grin

DD2 is a huge Wimbledon fan and Lottie is obviously taking it in as she was heard shouting 'come on Conkers!'. grin

MawBroon Thu 13-Jul-17 07:20:14

marydoll you are really going through it too aren't you?
flowers and every good wish

Nelliemoser Wed 12-Jul-17 23:29:49

Andy has been troubled by injury for sometime now.

callgirl1 Wed 12-Jul-17 23:11:14

Also thrilled to read of Rory`s athletic prowess!

Marydoll Wed 12-Jul-17 23:11:04

If it is any comfort, My BIL has just started diaylis Maw. We had lots of scares and the doctors were amazed at how many times he pulled back from the brink and diayalis was put on hold. We had got into the habit of leaving our clothes ready at night, as were often getting calls in the middle of the night to take him to A and E. He has lots of other health problems, as well as having to have heart surgery in the next few weeks. Since starting dialysis, he has felt much better.

callgirl1 Wed 12-Jul-17 23:10:38

Pleased to hear better news of Paw, even if only slightly better, any improvement is worth hearing about. I`m sorry to come late to your birthday wishes Ann, but am glad you`ve had such a great day.
Gaga, so sorry about your sister`s poor husband. Life can be very cruel.
