Kindest thoughts from me Maw hold on in there. You will feel better when he himself is more comfortable after a transfusion. Long days ahead.

Swanny Mon 10-Jul-17 21:22:38

Maw I'm sending more hugs for you both but wish I could send a miracle cure instead ((((hugs))))

kitty that photo of those little girls looks as though it should be in pride of place in the National Portrait Gallery.

Gagagran many congratulations to you both and I hope you've had a wonderful day flowers

annsixty didn't hang about did you? grin

soop so pleased Rory seems to be over the worst of whatever struck him so low. I've shared my life with several black cats so, if you don't mind, he feels extra special to me smile x

Wishing all on GN a peaceful night and a happy tomorrow moon

Tizliz Mon 10-Jul-17 20:58:23

mawbroon sending you a few hugs and lots of wine

MawBroon Mon 10-Jul-17 20:52:27

Not really any news. He was having more IV albumin today and will have another blood transfusion tonight. That should make him more comfortable.
I hope to get some information from the consultant tomorrow, but a phone call from his liver consultant at the RFH this morning offered little false optimism.
We shall see what we shall see.
Thank you fir all the good wishes.

N&G wonderful tee shirts! I wish someone had given me one of those when I had my tonsils out! My son also had his tonsils out because of continual bouts of tonsillitis but he had only just started school. I wish your young ones well on the day and lots and lots of ice cream to go with the tee shirts!
Glad you are enjoying the tennis, soop; DD and SiL are going down on Thursday for the semi final. They are away for three days, and we get to run amok with the Little Prince! Tennis? Grandson? Hmm ?! No contest! ?.
Hope Maw is okay. Anyone heard?

soop Mon 10-Jul-17 17:42:36

Charleyg Excellent tennis. I've enjoyed every match that I've chosen to watch.

Maw I'm also hoping that there will be better news today. sunshine

Care home visit tomorrow. I shall check in with you lot after lunch. smile moon

soop Mon 10-Jul-17 17:39:56

JoHanna and Andy through to the quarter finals. Oh happy day!

Charleygirl Mon 10-Jul-17 17:30:41

soop the tennis has been fabulous if nail biting at times. I am not a Rafa fan and I would be happy to say goodbye to him, his opponent is doing very well.

There is now a cooling breeze so I may venture out to find something for tonight's supper.

Maw I do hope that there is better news today. Hugs and flowersfrom me.

soop Mon 10-Jul-17 17:13:16

Nana&G Another winner! Fantastic! grin

NanaandGrampy Mon 10-Jul-17 16:28:10

whew its been steamy here ( and no not in the have more sex to keep your brain sharp steamy!!)

I have just finished 2 t shirts for Laura and Stevie who unbelievably are both having their tonsils out on the same day this month. After 12 months of a number of bouts and a lot of lost school it was deemed necessary.

Laura is very excited and requested a t shirt for both of them to wear in to the hospital.

So this was the end result !!

soop Mon 10-Jul-17 12:54:25

GaGa Sweet memories. Priceless!

Please will you excuse me while I return to watch some exciting tennis. Radwanska and Kuznetsova are battling away on Centre Court. I'm looking forward to Johanna Konta's game...Rafa's game...and, deep breath, Andy's match. Give the girl a Pimms [I wish].

I shall return later.

soop Mon 10-Jul-17 12:49:47

kitty Ellie and Lottie are beautiful wee lassies. I would have this photograph enlarged and framed.

Thank you all for kind comments regarding Rory. He's resting!!!! It's a tough life being an alpha cat with attitude. wink

Greyduster grin It's the way you tell 'em. grin

soop Mon 10-Jul-17 12:43:59

Dearest Maw I'm sending you and your dear husband my best wishes. This is a horrible time for you. Please keep telling us how you feel. I know that sharing such feelings helps enormously.

Lona Mon 10-Jul-17 10:51:24

Maw, anno has put it perfectly, in circumstances like this you need a hug. You've been in my thoughts this weekend, I hope Paw is feeling more comfortable today, and I'm sending you best wishes and a (((hug))). flowers

What happy memories to look back on gagagran and how different from some (not all) of the ridiculously bridezilla - led extravaganzas of today where sometimes the wedding preparations last longer than the marriage.
Any chance of a pic (of a pic) of the happy day?

annsixty Mon 10-Jul-17 09:53:49

While you were busy getting married Gaga I was busy in labour, my D is 52 today.
That is not strictly true, I went into labour at about 8pm and she was born at 11:25 pm. I have never believed in messing about. S, 4 years later took 1 and a half hours.
I hope you have a lovely day, it is pouring with rain here.

Greyduster Mon 10-Jul-17 09:45:23

Our wedding day was such a catalogue of disasters you could have made an Ealing comedy out of it. I prefer not to dwell on it too much! But fifty one years later we are still rolling along. It was a hot July day.

Gagagran Mon 10-Jul-17 09:36:03

Funny how anniversaries make you reflect on the years that have passed since the big day itself.

We were 21 and 22 and were married in a little village church in Last of the Summer Wine country on 10 July 1965. It was a dry though overcast morning but the sun came out as we came out of church for the photogaphs. Elder DB had come over from Germany - he was in the army - and had managed to get some colour film so we had coloured photos which was exciting at the time.

My dress (slub silk with threequarter ribbon-lace sleeves and a boat neck) was made by a work mate's Mum, who was a dressmaker. My elder sister did the flowers (gold and cream roses) and my other sister made and iced the wedding cake. Our reception was at a country pub and we had chicken salad and trifle (Mum's choice as they were paying). The wedding was at 11am and the reception was a lunch which we had to leave pretty quickly in order to get to York for a train to Edinburgh for our week's honeymoon. We came back from that with £5 between us to last until pay day at the end of the month!

So many who were at our wedding are no longer with us but there are also many more members of our family who were not with us on that day - still to be born! Life is a funny old thing isn't it?
