Looking forward to catching up,on everybody's news but just back, exhausted but had a LOVELY time. Gotland looks a bit like a flat Kintyre - pine trees, sea, clear blue waters, blue skies, wonderfully fresh air and kindly people.
"Feca" with cardamon and cinnamon buns went down well too!

Swanny Tara is out all day, runs in around 8pm for a bite to eat and then rushes upstairs to bed to rest her eyes. She rarely spends any time with me when I am watching TV or whatever.

Good news charley, you deserve a glass or three .

I ma going to open a bottle of wine this evening as I fancy a glass or three of wine with my supper.

I now have an electrically safe house- the electrician was here again today to sort out problems he found in light switches upstairs. The first electrician who left my home a 100% fire risk should be shot at dawn and that would be too good for him.

I am having a week's rest. The work is not finished but it is mainly tiling and painting. I will not be forking out any more large sums of money- the money tree has withered and died. It is time now to investigate that strange word "save". Hopefully I will sleep well tonight.

Charleyg We recently had a boiler maintenance man call to deal with our wayward boiler. The bill was a little over £60. The same problem cropped up again last week. MacSporran looked into matters and discovered an air lock.

Had a horrible day yesterday for one reason or another. Suffice it to say everything I touched went to hell in a hand basket. So hers hoping for slightly better day today.

Its much cooler here today so hope we get back to something a tad warmer quickly.

Sam is poorly again , so the new food , even carefully put in his diet is not helping. The only reason that we changed was because the behaviourist thought it would help. So I'm sorry but we are reverting to the diet he has been on for the last 4 years with no trouble !!

As one of yesterdays buggerations I managed to think the behaviourist was visiting when in fact its the 27th July !!!

I should have gone back to bed yesterday and stayed there for the day!!

What a handsome young boy "kitty*.

My neighbours had the heating on all day yesterday- it was around 21C here -although it was raining at times it was so muggy. Their house must have resembled a sauna.

It is around 17C here in London and still muggy. Hopefully I will not need heating for a while because my boiler appears to be having a holiday. The light is on but there is nobody at home. With luck it will not be permanent. It does need to be serviced but that cannot be done until this lot have moved out permanently.

Just popping in to check everyone is ok.

And to do a little ma bragging. It was Bertie's sports day yesterday and he swept the board. 3 first places! He is quite fast and, apparently, good at obstacle courses and walking very fast with a bean bag on his head too - they should be Olympic sports!!

It may be worth them remembering that any neighbourly disputes have to be declared as part of the legal process of a sale. Or I guess in their case it's more likely should be declared .

The police interviewer must have realised quite quickly that the complaint had been malicious and the nasties should have been warned about wasting police time. I'm not sure that councils can do much about difficult neighbours who are owner-occupiers. If they were in social housing they would be running a risk of eviction. Making complaints about neighbours as unpleasant as these is a risk in itself as they will often take reprisals at the person they suspect of complaining. When I was a CAB advisor I dreaded clients coming in with neighbour issues which are awkward to address.

We did that this morning, tiz. 11.4° in flaming June!

Galen If my young sister lived in your cul-de-sac, you wouldn't need to ask the police to intervene in the nasty neighbours saga. She is a modern day warrior. She is mistress of the protest march. Banner unfurled. Megaphone at the ready. She doesn't suffer fools kindly. That family would be ready to sell at a ridiculous price in their haste to leave. My sister is twenty one years than I and a heck of a lot feistier.
