Some of these responses made me smile - I'm with you polarbear2!

I very foolishly agreed to my sister's suggestion that we did workouts together. She's very much into fitness. I am not. All went well for a couple of weeks, until she thought it was time to do a bit more. She had me doing 24 squats holding baked bean tins. My thighs reacted and now I can barely walk without pain. It's my own fault, I should never have agreed to it.

My friend recommended the awesome fifties utube indoor walking workout. I’m going to check it out.

I have so little motivation. I’ll do something one day - and enjoy it - and plan for day 2. Then nothing. I walk most days but even that is getting boring.

No. Not since I stopped going to the gym because of covid. I did plan to do a few minutes exercise every hour (walk upstairs, do a quick plank and a few tie touches etc, walk back downstairs) but slipped out of the habit it worries me how unfit I have become especially as the weather is so awful and I don’t want to go for walks. I can’t use a cross trainer as the sideways movement hurts my knees.

I think the trick is to find something you really enjoy doing and that you want to do again. For me it's dance workouts - I am absolutely useless, no coordination whatsoever but I enjoy them immensely and look forward to doing them.

Everything else I tried felt like a huge chore and would always fizzle out.

Answer truthfully! I have fits and starts with all good intentions. I have a cross trainer at home, an exercise ball and some hand weights - so the intention is there! I follow workouts online and I'm pleased with myself afterwards that I am doing something and certain I will do the same the following day...then it just stops!
