I had absolutely no idea that Gransnet Café was the place to come to introduce yourself as a newbie! So well done, new members, for finding it.
I looked back and found a newbies welcome thread by Gransnet dating from 2018 through to 2022 which I must have missed when I joined 4 years ago.
Anyway, nice to see some new names, chatting away is interesting and fun. It runs away with you sometimes.

kittylester Sun 25-Feb-24 14:39:31

There was a 'Hello' thread from the very early days.

Not sure what happened to it.

Hi Everyone,

I am joining Gransnet to meet like minded people. I am 65 years old and have been living in Tenerife for the last 15 years of my life.
I am married to John who is 75 years old.
I have 4 Grandchildren who all live in the UK so visits are very rare unfortunately.
I have lot's of interests including swimming, walking, meeting friends and dining out when John's health permits.
Looking forward to chatting.

crazyH Sat 20-Jul-24 16:18:55

Hi Salz - welcome.
I hope John isn’t your husband’s real name. There’s a slight risk of being identified, so try to avoid real names .

Salz Sat 20-Jul-24 17:12:20

Thanks for the welcome CrazyH, ok advice from you taken, guess I can edit it??????

Mollygo Sat 20-Jul-24 17:18:04

Salz

You can ask for your post to be taken down and post it again without names, but editing still doesn’t happen once you’ve posted.
Just refer to him as my other half , or husband or DH ( dear husband) from now on.
Welcome anyway.
