True fact!

A swarm of Ladybirds is known as a Loveliness! Perfect name for such gorgeous insects!

Aw. No idea.

I saw a ladybird yesterday. It looked like it had 14 spots.
2 rows of 3 spots on each side, plus a final row of 1 on each side.

Might have been a harlequin ladybird, an invasive but harmless species. They are bigger and spottier than the usual ones.

Every time I have brought the washing in this summer, I have had to blow at lest one ladybird off.

Last year my DH swears he was bitten by a ladybug (that's what we call them), and I thought he was imagining things. It turns out that yes, they do sometimes bite.

Now he thinks they are evil little creatures out to pursue him.hmm

In the UK hot summer of 1976 there were reports of people being bitten by ladybirds. There were many more ladybirds and they were bigger than usual, too! 🐞

I had lots of ladybirds last year. They were crawling on my kitchen window. They are beetles really but very pretty.

Had to smile when I read this - in our village we have a group of "old biddies" who meet up monthly for a bring and share lunch with gossip in the village hall - we call ourselves "Ladybirds" smile
