The big sixty today!

I'm sat on a bench on the pier scoffing an ice cream cone and guzzling a can of Dr Pepper and reading Shaun Hutson - Death Day! It's a lovely feeling having the breeze blow around my long hair and in my face!

On my left a few feet away is a rubbish bin and there's a huge seagull stood on top, he's not bothered me at all and I'm talking to him and telling him how handsome he is. I've taken some photos of him and will try to post one here later.

I know gulls have a reputation for being aggressive and I understand why some people are scared of them but I think they're beautiful and they're highly intelligent. In all my years there's not once when I've been attacked by one!

I've brought 3 books with me, Karin Slaughter - Blindsighted, Lin Anderson - Dark Flight and Shaun Hutson -Death Day.

I've found a lovely Fine Dine Indian Restaurant I'll be taking myself to this evening and later today I'll hunt around the charity shops!

At breakfast at the B&B this morning everything was going well, all guests happy and the hosts doing the cooking etc. and there was an almighty BANG and CLATTER! The kitchen aid apparently dropped a large silver tray full of glasses all over the floor! Chunks of broken glass went everywhere! Thankfully she wasn't hurt!

See you all later on, everyone!

Happy 60th Birthday

I'm going to Whitby tomorrow - I'll keep an eye out for the seagulls

Happy Birthday. What a good place to spend it in.
Have you had a stroll around Pannett Park? Lots of squirrels to feed there. Enjoy!

Allira Tue 29-Apr-25 11:00:31

😁
And DH's icecream (another time, another place!).

silverlining48 Tue 29-Apr-25 10:56:22

Oh 😥 I feel your pain. I like crab sandwiches too, but never steal them. Not like some (seagulls) I could mention.

Watch those seagulls, I had a brand new (not even been licked) ice cream, was crossing the road, they took the lot.
Other than that Whitby is lovely. .
Happy birthday. Enjoy the day.

Happy Birthday, enjoy your day.
DH was born near Whitby. I remember going there many times when visiting his Grandma. We used to take the little train when it was part of the BR rail network. I even found a bit of amber on the beach, although it’s famous for Jet.

You'll love the Karin Slaughter book; Blindsighted is one of her best. Enjoy all that Whitby has to offer.

I love Whitby, you are lucky being there. My cousins live inland near Scarborough which I think isn’t too far from there if I remember. Say hi to Captain Cook !
