Most offputting Advert on TV?

I don't know what the product is because, before this ad is done, I have changed the channel, so I shall give you some clues.

Men sniffing each others' groins. References to slang names for men's "bits and bobs". Said bits and bobs getting a spray.

Anybody actually not cringe when this Ad comes on? Anybody have an even more offputting Ad they would like to mention?

Anyone seen the one where menstrual blood leaks onto clothes and everyone looks? 😝And it leaks onto the bed of a gay woman and her and her partner throw pads at each other - it appears that they find it hilarious 🤢

I have. It’s revolting.

Allira Fri 27-Jun-25 19:52:32

I miss Jingls too 😥

Foxyferret Fri 27-Jun-25 19:44:22

I miss jingles. These days we either have screaming so called singers with awful music, or pop songs I like being butchered by altering the words or chopping the verse to suit the ad. Bring back, a finger of fudge, for mash get smash, you look a little lovelier each day with fabulous Camay etc etc. Nah, can’t be bothered just bring on the screaming woman. I agree with the bulky pee pants and the Lynx advert both being awful.

The one with the pee pants it's pretty disgusting. A more serious advert for incontinence underwear or pads would be much better.
And the one with kids voices on adults I think it's Haribo sweets. That's just stupid

I love the Haribo ads, always make me smile, and yes they are stupid but at least they are not offensive

Absolutely agree. I would never buy any of the items featured in those dreadful adverts.

Crossstitchfan Fri 27-Jun-25 19:25:14

Ugh! I agree!

Diffuser Fri 27-Jun-25 19:13:35

I agree with all of the above. I look away for the period, body spray type ones. I wouldn't know where to look if we had visitors.

The one I really hate is when a group of people come out of the woods chanting and they 'dip' a guy in the water and he comes out as a fried chicken leg. It's horrible.

HowVeryDareYou2 Fri 27-Jun-25 18:26:02

I can't stand the daft adverts for Curry's and I'd never buy anything from them for that reason

NannaFirework Fri 27-Jun-25 18:23:23

The stupid Virgin Media ad with the speed boat Walrus makes my blood boil!

Musicgirl Fri 27-Jun-25 18:05:35

The Andrex advert where a schoolboy walks from the back of the classroom to the front before leaving in the direction of the toilet. Every step he takes, he makes a very loud, rude noise. He is also clutching a roll of Andrex. When he returns to the classroom, everyone cheers. I much preferred the puppy.

I thought that this advert had descended to a new low, only to be treated today to an advert with two ladies jogging when one of them tells her friend that she is about to flood. In my innocence, I thought it was an advert for incontinence products but it turned out the menstrual flooding and was advertising transemic acid tablets, which can now, apparently, be bought over the counter.

I cannot understand why these adverts have to be quite so graphic. We all have to go to the toilet, many people have occasional continence problems, everyone in this group had periods in the past and many of us had heavy periods/flooding as we were coming up to the menopause. We also all wear deodorant in order to keep ourselves sweet smelling. We don’t need to be reminded of the facts so openly. Surely, a little more discretion could be utilised.

There is evidently a race to the bottom (pun intended!)

MegrannyW1 Fri 27-Jun-25 17:07:12

I quite agree with you this one is gross.Who thinks t these adverts up and the one with the child voices is awful what age audience are they aiming for 2 year old and even that’s an insult

sassenach512 Fri 27-Jun-25 16:57:09

What is wrong with the people who make these gross ads and think they are acceptable? I'm sure it seems like they're looking to see just how far they can go. It makes you wonder if we're going to see soft porn on ads before long and they'll no doubt get away with that too

Yes, it does make us remember them, maybe, but in my case it also makes me determined not to buy that item. grin

I agree. If the ad is distasteful to me I would NEVER buy that product

Yes, the one where thing sing about diarrhoea and fan their bottoms. That crossed a red line in my book! New level of crassness and vulgarity. Aside from that it all the recliner chairs, aided bathing, mobility scooter and funeral related ones that hate. They are all so ageist!

What?? I’ve missed that one, just as well!

SaxonGrace Fri 27-Jun-25 16:32:22

Me too and there are so many ads that treat us as if we are stupid, the one with Debbie McGee exhorting us to buy new kitchen doors, she apparently couldn’t afford a new kitchen !

missdeke Fri 27-Jun-25 16:28:01

I hate all the bodily functions ones whether adults or babies, but what really annoys me currently is that all the incontinence ones relate to women. Why not men when they suffer from incontinence issues too. I read only this week that 1 in 3 men over 65 suffer from incontinence or urgency problems. And the advert with those men singing about diarrhoea always seems to come on TV when I'm eating, ugh.

Sarahr Fri 27-Jun-25 16:20:48

It is an awful advert.
Since when have we sniffed each other like dogs?
Ads seem to be getting worse.
I think this ad is supposed to entice people to purchase the product. We won't be buying.
As far as we can see is what they are offering is another way to part people from their money and cause even more bad skin conditions.

It’s really yuk , tasteless and unnecessary .

polly123 Fri 27-Jun-25 15:55:19

Almost all of them. I mute or fast forward on a regular basis as they are getting more boring/irritating/irrelevant etc continually.

MrsMatt Fri 27-Jun-25 15:52:13

I'm so glad I don't watch TV anymore

gran5up Fri 27-Jun-25 15:43:45

How grateful I am to you all for showing me the sordid world of current ads...I record everything so I can watch progs at the best time for me then fast forward through 'em straight back to the prog flowers
