Most offputting Advert on TV?

I don't know what the product is because, before this ad is done, I have changed the channel, so I shall give you some clues.

Men sniffing each others' groins. References to slang names for men's "bits and bobs". Said bits and bobs getting a spray.

Anybody actually not cringe when this Ad comes on? Anybody have an even more offputting Ad they would like to mention?

The worst for me is blasted funeral plans. Then there's the one with chap singing about diarrhea hea hea. Gross. And always when you're eating something 🤢🤮

Not disgusting as such but ads for pee pants are completely irresponsible because they normalise bladder problems which may well prevent people seeking medical advice for a problem which is not normal at any age.

Robin202 Fri 27-Jun-25 15:06:22

Agree I think its awful and totally cringeworthy- body spray for the nether regions 😩. I also hate the adverts for women’s issues, period leaks etc. so unnecessary.

bikergran Fri 27-Jun-25 14:57:21

Not a gross add but getting sick of hearing the young boys voice when he comes in full of mud...and on about Wet wipes "loo or bin"? then rhymes off something about poo in the loo..and something else in the bin, Cannot even remember what it is now.

Can't stand the charity ads, whether it's dogs, cats. Girls, children. Donkeys or water !
Maybe I'm just heartless. Would sign up for all.of them nut it's never ending. Think they have become ' noise' and most people are de- sensitised

Harris27 Fri 27-Jun-25 14:46:51

Revolting can’t stand them!

Granmarderby10 Fri 27-Jun-25 14:36:36

Oh totally agree grannybuy but it’s all the “low temp” ethos that has caused people to resort to a conditioner plus now a “booster” for the conditioner, so that’s three products instead of one!
That’s 2 more products pumped into the system. 2 more products on the shopping bill.

grannybuy Fri 27-Jun-25 14:26:30

Granmarderby, I haven’t stopped using laundry products, I just meant that I wouldn’t constantly be changing to the ones that they would have us believe are better.

Mojack26 Fri 27-Jun-25 14:20:08

Just what I said! 'Age of openess' nothing to be ashamed of.... not me saying that it'll be the thinking behind it...wokeness and equality or simethung as ridiculous! They are all vile and totally uneccesary.

Mojack26 Fri 27-Jun-25 14:16:47

All body deodorant from Sure and there's also another one. It's a disgusting advert! I know no one that likes it young or old! 🤮 It's like the Always advert too... totally uneccessary graphics.... Hate them

Unigran4 Fri 27-Jun-25 14:15:37

"that's a Boomerang Smell" what twaddle!!

But I do have to laugh at the thought of the auditions held for the wobbly bottom toilet roll ad! "Just walk away from us, Miss Hopeful.....hmmm, not enough wobble, thank you. NEXT!!!"

grannybuy I know it’s not eco-minded …but where laundry is concerned low temp washes if not dried promptly absolutely stink…it is bacteria.
And few things are more intoxicatingly gorgeous than the aroma of line dried clothing and bedding imo.

I agree about the low temperature washes.
After a few examples of this, I always wash underwear, PJs our bedding and the dog’s bedding at a higher temperature. (Not all together.)

Disgusting advs no wonder some boys and young men are choosing another road in life

Granmarderby10 Fri 27-Jun-25 14:11:35

Sleepy they’ll be sure to follow on soon all things being equal, I mean now the “flood gates” are open.

Leavesden Fri 27-Jun-25 14:10:06

I agree with all of these comments, hate the gross ads wouldn’t make me buy the products often put them on mute, certainly don’t need to see people sitting on the toilet, or sniffing there armpits or worse and I know what period blood looks like you don’t have to show me, hate them all.

zipperdedoda Fri 27-Jun-25 14:09:22

My mum got up every ad break, mostly to make cups of tea or get biscuits! she died at 87 and had no problems with knees, hips etc. I wish I was that energetic! When the ads come on I just channel hop!

Granmarderby10 Fri 27-Jun-25 14:08:04

I’m so used to no commercials on most tv that I watch that I got really really fed up and switched over from Chanel 4s repetitive ones the other night on catch up.

Seriously question: what would the best Video Recorder/player to buy? Anyone…
I know they just want me to pay more for no ads.

Sleepy Fri 27-Jun-25 14:07:20

My thoughts when all the pad pants and graphic details came on tv “no wonder very young boys are claiming they are gay or young girls deciding the would rather be boys and Men deciding they don’t like women so much anymore” I know I will be slammed by others coping with real serious issues on gender but those adds are disgusting and should be banned. PS Where are equivalent adds for men’s products?

Casdon

I don’t ever watch adverts. When I was working I read how much time we waste on advert breaks, and started to get up every time the ads came on and do a small cleaning task - it was amazing how much I got done. Old habits die hard, and I’m still doing it, it gets me up, and I’m so used to it that I don’t even think about it now.

I might well pinch that idea!

The one with the pee pants it's pretty disgusting. A more serious advert for incontinence underwear or pads would be much better.
And the one with kids voices on adults I think it's Haribo sweets. That's just stupid

Granmarderby10 Fri 27-Jun-25 13:54:37

Bea65 I’ve seen them in Boots there are a couple of brands roll on and spray. Not that cheap compared to usual deodorant either.
I’d rather have a really gorgeous perfume/cologne by saving up personally but that’s young people for you.

crazyH Fri 27-Jun-25 13:50:59

I think it’s the advert for LYNX - it’s disgusting !!😡

grannybuy Fri 27-Jun-25 13:49:58

Yes, I’ve decided not to buy body sprays, or anything else that these particular companies are trying to sell. Same for the laundry and dish washing products, where they regularly keep apparently producing something greater.
