Most offputting Advert on TV?

Any way we can "forward" this thread to the Ad company? Mind you, they probably won't care: we aren't their "target audience". The young Ad makers all know that old people smell bad but are too dumb to realise it or care!

Yes - but do you realise that, if you fill it up (or it breaks) and you have to buy a new one, you can't transfer anything you might want to keep? I didn't; I was very upset!

It's funny really - not funny ha ha but funny peculiar. We don't generally worry about watching toothpaste and teeth ads for example but we do about our bottoms which are also part of us.

Not so keen on the ones showing spitting and spitting blood though.

So do I. I wonder when the advertisers will realise that a great number of people don’t watch the adverts at all. Many of us will fast forward through them, and if we can’t, we will make a cuppa or do something else while they are on. The ads go on for so long now that I find I can go to the loo, wash my hands, make a cup of tea and be sitting down by the time the programme is back on. Soon, the ads will be on longer than the programme! I actually timed the ads in a programme recently and it turned out that the ads took up nearly 20% of the programme! That is appalling! I watch less and less ITV because of this.

On that thought, have you noticed that you can't fast forward on most of the 'on demand' channels. I think they have noticed the tendency to record and fast forward ... soon everything will be 'on demand ... '

My goodness, I really started something here, didn't I? I have cable (VM) with a TIVO box and record nearly everything I want to watch in the evening, but I still get caught out by these gross adverts in the morning when I am watching Jeremy Vine - just when I am eating my breakfast, usually!

Not had the pleasure of seeing this a advert and it sounds like a total gross out.

The sort of thing that would really
appeal to the Rugby brigade or younger wnd dad older men on a boys night out.
You know where they are aiming for total obliteration of sll senses.

I also hate grown men talkng childrens voices adverts. It makes me feel nauseous. YUKKK!!!!

However by the worse and l think the most exploitavtive advert l has recently seen is the O2 advert about freedom which heavily features anew born child is and narration by so called National Treaure, Sean Bean.

Who baby was that? It could hardly give permission to be featured could it.

The Advertisement Industry us run by very self regarding types. Usually men who think there are the epitome of creative talent. Leading edge, whi shape our choices and push thr envelope in creative media.

I don't like these toilet ads in their various formats either but perhaps it's our age? Perhaps the younger generation just take it as a 'normal' ad

The people who design these adverts have been to "Uni" doing marketing degrees at great expense. Isn't it sad tha the UK education system has sunk this low? Obnoxious, off putting, downright disgusting adverts which are making us all reach for the off button or mute. Where's the marketing sense in that?? And who are all these smelly, leaky people with malodorous homes, clothing and bodies? Shower yourselves, wash your clothes and bedding, clean your homes...simply use hot water and soap! That's it!

I don't have a TV and don't want one, partly because of all the stupid adverts but that men sniffing each others bits sounds weird and creepy!

I was around a friends house a few weeks ago and she's got one of those giant TV's in her livingroom, build like a cinema screen, and I tried to ignore it as much as possible but she had the sound really loud to the point I had difficulty in hearing what she was saying and there were some VERY annoying ads!

I remember years ago there was ''Aniston...and on and on... ''from 1991, I absolutely HATED it!

I know they have to advertise essential things like period pads, nappies etc. but they don't need to go into graphic details!

Men sniffing each others' groins. References to slang names for men's "bits and bobs". Said bits and bobs getting a spray.

I agree with you on this one. Found it embarrassing and off putting. I only saw this ad once but never want to see it again. I also dislike the Haribo one where grown men talk in children's voices.

Humax has stopped manufacturing Freesat boxes, and the production has been taken over by Arris. While Humax no longer makes them, Freesat Spares still sells new old stock and refurbished Humax Freesat boxes, like the HDR1100.

The one with the pee pants it's pretty disgusting. A more serious advert for incontinence underwear or pads would be much better.
And the one with kids voices on adults I think it's Haribo sweets. That's just stupid

I love the Haribo ads, always make me smile, and yes they are stupid but at least they are not offensive

Anyone seen the one where menstrual blood leaks onto clothes and everyone looks? 😝And it leaks onto the bed of a gay woman and her and her partner throw pads at each other - it appears that they find it hilarious 🤢

I was really confused by that one, but I think they are not actually a gay couple but the girl in red is actually the period! If you listen to the dialogue this seems to be the implication, not that it makes it any better.

A couple stretched out on a bed. He’s making a stack on his lap and the woman shakes the bed to make it topple. It doesn’t, so she just smashes it with her arm! So rude😳
Can’t remember what it’s about (firm bed?) so obviously even hating an advert doesn’t mean you remember the product.

There is one where a girl knocks a door and the girl opening the door sniff her, and the dog of the house pushes the visitor over the wall - really??

I do wonder though about the dancers singing the Peptobismol advert if they ever thought their career would include dancing and singing "heartburn, indigestion, upset stomach, diarheaaaaa!
