I'm 60 in a few weeks. I've just had my first tattoo! I've deliberated for 12 months about it and what people might say etc.
I'm not the most confident and can't say I'm thrilled at being 60 but my Dad died at 68, had no real retirement time, so id like to think i get longer!

Oh yes so you’re not alone. I have no idea what to do about it ..have you?

We took on a part time gardening job! Lots of demand for it from elderly who can no longer do it themselves. From our experience once you have one ‘customer’ as long as your rates are reasonable then word of mouth will cause that one job to snowball!! Met lots of lovely people too.
This is only if you like gardening 🤣

Just wait until you turn 80! Know exactly what you mean, so it is a question of mind over matter and motivation, which is not all that easy is it? Try to become involved in organisations such as the U3A where you will hopefully meet like-minded people. Or if you feel fit enough, volunteer at a charity shop for a few hours per week - they will be doubtless by extremely grateful. As you become older, your confidence does erode especially when medical matters intervene but staying positive is the only real way forward IMHO. Good luck

Yes, my confidence and positivity is zero just now...not the retirement I had imagined. I feel I've been short-changed!

Has anyone else felt like this....I turned 60 and had a wonderful time a few months ago...but in the last few weeks I've been feeling absolutely terrible...I seem to have lost all my confidence and positivity. Can anyone relate to this?
