Welcome and congratulations on your imminent grandson. I’m sure you’ll have many adventures together.
Do keep posting as it’s always interesting to hear from those living in different countries and also Grandads.

I have been lurking for awhile, but wanted to drop in to say hello. I notice that men are quite in the minority here, and even more so are American men. No worries, just an observation. Hopefully you all don't mind someone from across the pond.

Anyway, I am a soon to be grandpa and was searching the web for a community. This is the most active thus far. My DIL is due in late April and I am very excited. This is my first grandson from my son, and only child. They found and shared his gender, making it easier to help with supplies and gifts. My son and I love to go on day hikes and are looking forward to taking Wyatt on them with us. Yes we have been eyeing packs to carry him and care for him on the trails around Northern Nevada.

A little more about me; I am a Gen-X, U.S. Navy Veteran, Submariner, Dad, Husband, and Sarcasm Aficionado. I love to write stories and am currently working on a book, When I'm not writing, I can usually be found overseeing and advocating for my veteran social and support group, creating and administrating various websites, gaming, listening to music, and yes working my RL job (listed last because it is least).

I look forward to getting to know you all, share events and mutual advise. I will probably be in here frequently for pointers and advise.

What are the chances of that? In a forum with only a few men present, you and I posted for the first time within 2 hours of one another!

I am in southwest England near the coast/sea. Looking forward to seeing/hearing more from you. I have a friend in Florida, some distance from you!

I have been a grandpa for 5 years....as of 27th December! My one granson is likely going to be my only one.

Best wishes and happy new year,

Pete

Just a quick hello and welcome to the site there aren’t many guys on here but there are a few , so you may hear from them

I can I imagine how excited you are to share your trips with your new grandson don’t expect anything too quickly they are just eating, sleeping, pooing, burping machines for the first few months, and fully designed to keep you without sleep or any kind of life of your own
Enjoy your grand boy

Welcome! I have four grandchildren by my twin daughters (two each) - three boys and a,girl - ranging in age from 7 to 17. They are hard work at times, but are great fun and a pleasure to be with. We live close together in a suburb of London, so there is lots of mutual support. Brace yourself for an enjoyable challenge!
