It's your time and it may, sadly, be shorter than you think so if there's something you want to do, somewhere you want to go and you have the means: Go for it!
And don't ever let anyone tell you what you ought to do or what's age-appropriate. If you really want to wear a mini skirt, dye your hair green, have an affair, take up hang-gliding or naturism: Do it.
I'm 76 this week, was widowed at 69 just as covid was kicking off and expected to spend my 70s in miserable decline. My physical impairments are becoming more of a nuisance but I refuse to be beaten and, to be honest, I'm thoroughly enjoying my 70s - confident enough to speak up for what I want or believe in; enough sense of adventure to try new things or venture to new places; retain sufficient happy memories of my long marriage to unexpectedly fall in love again and establish a new partnership.
Most importantly, cherish your friends and all those you love. They, too won't be here forever and we miss them when they're gone.
