Good that things are brighter Kali - what a handful (even very well-behaved ones) 4 GC must be without having to cope with those interminable phone calls which seem to go nowhere!
Liking your comment grace - nice one

Nervous breakdown..
(137 Posts)Do they exist any more? I think I'm about to succumb to one any minute now
The dog's bo**ocks?
glad you're feeling better.
Ana bring it on
Oh vampire our posts crossed. I will chill tonight. I'll have to as I'll have three of the GKs again tomorrow, but that's ok as it's pre-planned.
PS my dog is fine. It was only his (sorry about this folks) his anal glands. At least that's one worry gone.
PPS MrK did find his way to and back from the local shops. The cold air has done him good and he's quite lucid now.
You haven't forgotten me, Kali, because I've only just got back in and read the saga of your horrendous morning!
I find it hard enough to cope with two boisterous GCs - don't know what I'd do if I had four of them to look after. Hope you're feeling calmer and more collected now...
later perhaps?
Bez it's good to know its not just me. I'm not impressed with this aspect of Saga.
Sel if the GKs had kicked off I would have left home! Luckily they are pretty good little characters and play well together.
petallus- and Ariadne yes, it's that sudden 'I want to scream loudly and I shouldn't' (in case i can't stop) moment.
I too like Grace's 'frustration overload' yoga it hits the nail squarely on the head.
tegan British Gas .. I know!!
mishap I'd love to let go but afraid I'd never come back again and would vanish off into infinity.
grace, shysal, Marelli, glass, Ceesnan, cheelu, grannylin thanks to you too. It seems a storm in a
now but it was a horrid feeling earlier.
Hope I've not forgotten anyone?
Nervous breakdowns definately still exist but they're not called that anymore. You sound as if you've had more stress this morning than more people have in a week.
Can you chill out this evening?
There is nothing worse than dealing with large organisations over the phone - it is such an exercise in patience. By all means have a nervous breakdown - you will be in good company!! Take care x.
It's the stage, Kali, isn't it, where if just one more thing is demanded of you, or goes wrong, you know you'll explode! Glad all has calmed down now - gather ye rosebuds while ye may.
I find Sheila's Wheels very good. I stuck with them because, having switched from Saga after a price comparison, when my policy came up for renewal the following year they didn't push the price up dramatically [as Saga and most other insurers do]. I was quite surprised at the time because I'd got used to insurers of all kinds playing silly so and so's every year [and I find the whole process very time consuming and, yes, very very stressful]. An insurance broker phoned me up the other day to ask if I wanted a quote for my house buildings cover. I pointed out to them that they'd refused to cover me a few years ago because I had a tree next to my house and a river up the road and that I'd been very upset by it at the time and had no intention of ever going back to them
. Oh for the days of sticking with the same company without this silly shenanigans every year. [and don't get me started on British Gas....]
I like graces phrase "frustration overload" - that is SO descriptive
I know that feeling Kali Really, like I'm suddenly going to lose it big time.
Four GC, and young ones at that, no wonder you feel frazzled!
I'm guessing you will start to feel better before long.
Incidentally, isn't Kali an Indian Goddess?
If so, perhaps you can take strength from that
You're amazing Kali your morning would have driven me mad without four GCs to look after. Hope the afternoon brings a bit of peace after the vet- you're so right with the comment about the sheer amount of effort required to do such a simple thing. Utterly draining. Pity it's not wine o' clock
We too have just changed the car and have Saga insurance. Ford gave us a week's insurance so the car could be taxed etc (in fact no tax payable
). Saga were very efficient in that they marked the policy to change to the new car on the date I gave them.
Then we had the problem with the insurance documents too and the same thing with the website not recognising the policy number etc - this was more than a week ago so you would have thought it would have been sorted by now. As we were leaving to travel to France within a few days they did agree to send the paper copy by guaranteed delivery and the postman was sitting in his van waiting for signs of life in the house at 7-30 am the following morning. He told OH that it had cost something like £15 to send the documents to us.
Kali you are right we do get through it some how--but if there is anything that we can help with please say..Dont forget to take care of yourself and give yourself some time out because if you dont take care of yourself how will you be able to take care of anyone else x
Bless their little polyester socks. That's two down and two playing quietly. All schools and nurseries closed here today as snow and ice is deep and crisp and even. Sent Mr K out to local shops. Hope he remembers his way home
not sure that was a wise move.
grace that's amazing. I only have six weeks left on present insurance but had to pay £25+ to get a transfer. I'm going to dump Saga in March and try S**da if they'll take on a Nissan driver.
Having a nice
and going to get knitting out. Very soothing. Thanks again lovely people.
I bought a new car at the weekend (as you do) and got free 7 day insurance from S**da to enable the dealer to tax the car and cover the time to arrange new insurance. In the end I stayed with existing people as they were the cheapest quote - no increase on what I was paying for my little Fabia. It was all made very easy for me (fortunately, being a greyhound of very little brain)
Sat them all down to watch CeBeebies for a few minutes! Yes, a cop out I know! I'm changing cars this week so need to transfer insurance. Also the dealer is taxing the car for me but needs my new insurance details. I usually do this myself online but they offered to do it for me.
Yes, it's overload. That's exactly what it is. Talking here is like letting steam out of the pressure cooker.
But really must get the little ones to bed if they are going to be awake in time to allow me to get to vet.
If you tax a car on line it automatically finds your insurance information, so no hard copy required kali.
I hope things look up for you soon.
Are you making a claim? If not could you tell Saga insurance where to go? I use Sk*da car insurance and even their recorded music is soothing!
Also, No I am not on commission, they are unfailingly helpful! Note to Grannylin too!
4 GC does sound like ahandful and trip to the vet worrying? Frustration overload is what you are suffering from - hope you can get a bit of peace soon and a nice
If not - there are listening ears around to sound off to
Thank you all you lovely people.
Will go and put the 1 & 2 year old down for nap now. I feel better already
Oh grannylin they said it had to be emailed and came through on something called MySaga, which refused to recognise my policy number. Customer Services were useless and I wasn't allowed to speak to technical support directly as they were 'not trained on the phone' so everything had to be related through a third party and it was liked Chinese whispers. Still nothing worked. I've had to threaten to cancel all my polices then the agreed to send hard copies of insurance guaranteed delivery tomorrow. As you know you can't tax a car without these. It's the sheer mental effort you have to put in to get anywhere and the frustration that leaves you drained.
Thank goodness my GKs are being 'good'ish.
kali hope you are ok, come and have a chat if it will help
Sometimes we just need to be able to 'tell' someone, don't we? Nothing heavy - just a blether.
