My son was supposed to be coming to lunch today but phoned to say he'd been struck down by what sounds like the same bug. Still, as the baby's due in a couple of weeks it's probably as well to get it over with now.

GD had this bug 2 weeks ago and it lasted 5 days, along with D and V she had a temperature and headache. Normally children bounce back quite quickly but Noro virus does mutate so that you can become infected many times.

Thank you all for your advice and, yes, I will attend my GP on Monday first. I wondered if there was a particular bug doing its rounds.

Over a week is too long. Make sure you get plenty of fluids to avoid dehydration and contact your GP on Monday if still bad.

NHS 24 can advise you what to do now until you can have an appointment with your GP which should be as soon as possible to get treatment and peace of mind

Think you need to have a sample sent away for analysis if it's lasted that long.

Have you had medical advice? It sounds like Noro Virus but longer lasting. I normally have cast iron innards but have had NV twice.
