Aren't older people already excluded from some health related stuff?
I don't have the details to hand, but my recollection is that you are only invited to have things like cervical smear tests and bowel cancer tests etc up to a certain age. Then it stops.

I used to stand most of the time during my many years of teaching - at that rate I should live to about 152grin

Didn't even notice the 'so say' messed up title J08, read it correctly which says a lot for my brain or eyesight I guess.

I couldn't stand up for three hours (maybe 3 minutes) my back, hips, knees, shoulders, neck ....wouldn't let me. Surely someone is taking the p**s (oh! wash my mouth out with soap and water).

I am so sorry for the messed up title. Previewed the post, not the title. hmm #Fire

In the newspapers recently "experts" (hmm) have been announcing that we should all stand up for at least three to five hours every day. We could then expect to live an extra three years.

Given the fact that if I was on my feet for that length of time every day, I would be too knackered to enjoy life in general, and the fact that those three extra years would most likely be spent in an old folks' home (think group exercises and community singing) is it worth it?
