Single duvets ?

Microfibre blankets, very light and don't seem to hold the excess heat like duvets. And you can layer and delayer them if you know what I mean.

Why hasn't he been out and bought himself a 13 tog single duvet?

ok, daft question, but single duvets on a double bed, how do you go on when you're both in the middle having a cuddle?

We've plenty spare singles, may give it a try.

You could try a lighter duvet (large) with a microfibre blanket over his half. They do hold in quite a bit of warmth.

Well. Ask him which he wants. Cosy warm nights? Or the odd cuddle? I know which I'd plump for.

Separate beds is the ultimate answer. I've never regretted it!

Never buy a memory foam mattress or you will be standing beside the bed, fanning the mattress! That is what a friend of mine did when they bought a memory foam mattress with their new bed. They returned it within 30 days- they were fortunate that they could. She was perspiring so much.

I have a memory foam mattress, a 15 tog quilt and love them.

Single duvets I think are the answer for you and maybe a trip to your GP to see if he can help you.

I had hot sweats at night and got so fedup with it, I went to GP She put me on HRT and I never looked back. Felt fantastic on it, was on it for six years.

Oh , those drenching night sweats are utterly miserable, aren’t they? I was exactly the same – sheets like a paddling pool and the duvet on the floor by midnight. My lovely GP put me on HRT patches for a couple of years and it was an absolute godsend; slept like a baby again. Several ladies mention sage tablets – I tried them and they did take the edge off, plus a little bedside fan that oscillates quietly.
Sending cool, dry hugs across the ether and hoping you get some proper rest now.

Dear OliviaRema please start a new thread instead of resurrecting old ones. This has made me quite sad, seeing the names of deceased Gransnetters.
You have spoilt the start of what should be a lovely day out on a coach day trip.

Dear MiniMoon, I feel so sorry about that.
Your words brought a tear to my eye and a proper lump in my throat. I truly never stopped to think that seeing those familiar names again might bring sadness rather than just fond memories. How thoughtless of me.

Thank you for telling me so gently. Please forgive me; I shall leave the old threads sleeping peacefully from now on. I’m quite sure your dear departed Gransnetters would want us all to have nothing but smiles on coach-trip days, not a single cloud.

I think that was my point too, but clearly imperfectly expressed.

My hot sweats cleared up after finally and reluctantly giving in to my dr's recommended HRT patches, having tried every alternative product under the sun and menopause clinics here and abroad.
This was last year.
I have not looked back.
Ohh the joy of no more hot flushes and nightsweats at the grand old age of 76.
