Following an over night stay at King's London last week DD had to take DGS for a follow up blood test today.
So off to the GP surgery for script for numbing cream (they won't do children with out this) collect cream from next door pharmacy. She knew from past experience that our local hospital won't take blood from children. Even though they have a phlebotomy dept. So she travels 12 miles to next nearest where older grandson had had it done. After 90min wait she's told they don't do it for under 2 yr olds. (he's 2 this month)
She now has to travel 25miles to another hospital for after 4pm. where they have 'the facilities' ???? and wait again. Can someone explain what these facilities are. If they have a phlebotomy department isn't that enough ? Why didn't the GP tell her where she needed to be. All this with a special needs toddler in tow
