Cataract are stopping you seeing everything clearly. Once they are done the world will look like colour on steroids. You may need to wear sunglasses for a while until the eyes get used to the brightness again. I had mine done three days apart and as long as you stick religiously to the drops regime, for a few weeks, everything will be fine.

jenny - I hope you feel reassured by the comments from people who've had cataracts removed. I empathise, I also have cataracts, and foot problems that are preventing me walking my dogs in the way I love.

No wonder you felt miserable, good luck with the op, and the cyst flowers

I was nervous about my first cataract op but not at all about the second as I knew by then that the thought of it is far worse than the reality. If you feel really nervous, chat to the nurse looking after you and she may be able to give you a little help ( a small dose of valium did it for me!) Certainly didn't need it second time. Good luck!

I had one eye done earlier this year and I'm sure you'll be fine.

You have to lie very still and look at the ceiling but it's painless and I walked out of the theatre and was made a cup of tea immediately afterwards.

Good luck - my Dad had both eyes done and he said it was a doddle.

Good luck, jenny and I am sure it won't be long before you are back on line to tell us it was all a piece of cake. I might be heading in that direction myself sometime - due another eye test in September - so will be interested in your experience. flowers

jenny I was dreading my cataract operation, but all I felt was a bit of pressure on my eye when the surgeon anaesthetised it.
Honestly!
You'll be fine flowers

Good luck tomorrow. You can only sort out one thing at a time I am afraid. Hopefully you will know a great difference very soon.
