Toothache - any advice?

I've got quite bad toothache in a back tooth where I had a deep filling some time ago. Wow it hurts! Holding cold water on the tooth helps for a minute. Holding whisky on it helps for five minutes before the pain starts again. I don't think I can spend the day swigging whisky though.

Any advice appreciated. I've heard of oil of cloves and wonder whether to try that.

Going to the dentist was the right thing petallus and I’m glad your pain is subsiding and the problem will be solved once the antibiotics have done their job.
Yes, it will cost money but there is no pain quite like toothache.

I hope it’s better by now- nearly 8 years on!

I remember meeting * petallus* at the Birmingham meet up probably 8 or so years ago. I wonder if she is still a member?
