Can you get grommets at 64??

Had a nasty sinus infection in July and just cannot get my left ear to clear. It pops (and snaps and crackles!) all the time and I can feel fluid moving in my ear as I change position. I've had antibiotics, nasal sprays, steam inhalation a but nothing seems to be working. GP says fluid is further into ear canal as she can't see anything behind the eardrum. It's doing my head in as they say! I'm flying in 3 weeks as well so don't want sore ears for start of my holiday. Any suggestions gratefully received or do I have to make ENT appt??
