I'm not sure if this is the place to put a link to a petition, but the local psychiatric unit has recently closed its bed to female patients, making it men only, meaning women can be sent 30 to 60+ miles away, for in- patient care. This makes contact with families and particularly opportunities for children to keep in touch with mum difficult and expensive as I know to my cost.
You, your daughters or grand-daughters hopefully will never need to use it, but read the information, look at the blog, and see if you can help by signing the petition at the link below. Mumsnetters are already helping. Please help if you can.
