I think it's worth saying Suzie that the medics have always taken my GS's symptoms seriously and he has been investigated for Crohn's Disease, Addison's Disease and gall bladder problems. What started out as just frequent vomiting from the age of 7 turned into general digestive problems so good luck with it all.

Thank you everyone, for your input. As far as I can gather GOSH thought she may have a bug of some sort and that laxatives would clear it out once and for all. She's seen so many people at different places and nobody can give a definitive answer. This sounds mean, but I'm really glad to hear about other people's rotten experiences!! It helps!

DD has a friend who has suffered from cyclical vomiting since she was very young and is now in her twenties. This girl is type 1 diabetic and at first doctors thought it was part of her illness but after exhaustive tests, in a hospital that specialises in gastric medicine, they have found that she had developed a sac on the stomach where food was getting trapped.
I too get frequent bouts of nausea and vomiting but put mine down to the hiatus hernia.

My GS has had just the same symptoms only more frequently for some time now . He is now 16. He has been attending different clinics for a couple of years. He was diagnosed with abdominal migraine. He has had the laxatives, but the real clearing out stuff to take at weekends, been prescribed Lanzoprazole and the latest diagnosis is " it's probably IBS" but Dd has been told he may never get a proper diagnosis. He has been so bad that he has been home schooled for 18 months.i am sorry to be such a Jonah but it is totally frustrating for everyone, particularly him. He has been very depressed. Did they say why they have given her laxatives? I wonder what the reasoning behind that is. Did the paediatrician give any idea as to what they think is the cause of the vomitting?
