Hearing Aids

ps had a look on Google and there might be a partial reimbursement.

I have two.But they are national health ones.I was told they cost £3000.

DH has just got his, £3000, but it has made such a big difference, especially the little box that sends the TV sound directly to his hearing aid, now he can literally hear a pin drop

Do the aids stay in the ears permanently? Or do you remove them at night?
Both my parents went very deaf at about my age, so seems it's inherited.

I have two (NHS), absolute lifesavers because I was being too pig-headed and vain to admit that I couldn't hear. Mine's inherited too.
You take them out at night.

Take them out at night, in the bath, when you go swimming or just when you feel the need to have a break! It's great being able to hear more clearly but it's also wonderful to choose not to sometimes. Having said that, the more you wear them the quicker you get used to them. Good luck.

DGS forgot to take his hearing aid out in the bath. The worst appeared to have happened, but his mum managed to dry it out. Just as well, because she had made all too many calls to the hospital to report lost hearing aids. Now 10, he is more responsible.

Yes,you need to take them out to sleep bath etc ,and give your ears a rest.Mine get very itchy sometimes.I have drops to put in them.Wouldnt be able to go without them though,I'm deaf as a post.

I have one hearing aid which cost £1,500 by Oticon.

It's like turning the radio on when I put it in each morning, magic.

It has a little plastic flexible arm on it which anchors it securely in my ear.
