I am so relieved that DD has finally received the green light on her PIP (Personal Independence Payment) which replaces Disability Allowance. She is only 38 years old but has been unwell for some years now. After much form filling, daily activity diaries and interviewing she will now receive a monthly payment. Having been refused a blue parking badge just a couple of weeks ago - this is now on it's way to her!

She is a truly genuine case, she still works 2 days a week as a teacher but this has been such a long haul. She is also a single parent with a fantastic 6-year-old who understands as much as she can....and 'helps' mummy smile

If you know anyone in this situation who is still struggling - I hope this post gives you hope smile

I am so pleased for you and your DD that she has finally had her claim passed. ME and CFS is so understood, my GS who is nearly 17 has had all the symptoms for 3 years now.He had osteomyelitis when he was 13 and after much misdiagnosis was in hospital for 18 days,5 general anaesthetics in 8 days and discharged in a wheelchair and on intravenous antibiotics for 8 weeks. He has has CFS ever since, now formally diagnosed, but his life is not what a teenager should be living. All best wishes to your D and admiration for working and trying to live a normal life.

annsixty I am so sorry to read what your GS has gone through and is still going through. I feel that my daughter is too young to be going through this but your DGS is so very young - it must be heartbreaking. Thankfully, there is more work being done on this condition now and medication being offered which, for some, is making a real difference.
I do hope he gets the help and understanding he needs and there is a chance of improvement for him, sending flowers and all good wishes X

kitty Wishing you and your DS1 all the best with his assessment - I will watch out for your post and hope for good news smileX
