Hi all I am due to see a surgeon about my varicose veins I am not opting for the stripping of the veins but less invasive where they heat the veins by a small tube into the veins by sealing them off was just wondering if anybody has had this surgery and was it successful ? grateful for your comments regarding this method thanks

Hi Bellanonna I think it is if you suffer with painful veins like I do although I have an appointment with a specialist next month so will soon find out if they will treat me depends on funding I suppose like everything I am hopeful but not sure at this stage if I will get the treatment ....

Oh I was just being curious lilian. I don't have varicose veins but I do wish you well and hope you get some helpful responses on here.

I had mine stripped several years ago and they have been fine ever since. I know this operation is not done so often now as the clinical outcomes are not thought to be good enough to warrant the spending and vascular surgeons are in short supply and needed for other more complex procedures.

Hi Yes I agree think stripping veins is a more costlier op than other options plus you need a hospital bed for a night as well pleased to hear you are fine I will know end December what they decide on but thanks for your comment Teetime
