DH heart attack and utterly brilliant NHS

Been ordered to bed by DD so sat up in bed but still too much adrenaline rushing around for me to sleep so GN is providing with with some stuff to pass the time. Probably feel like poo after visiting this afternoon as hopefully will be more relaxed.

So glad to hear that all went well with the stenting procedure. We were in a similar situation 10 years ago next month and I agree with you 100% about the fantastic care provided by the NHS in emergency situations. It's absolutely first class. Hope your DH is feeling much better today.

What a frightening experience for you both! But aren't we all so lucky to have the NHS? Sounds as if they did an amazing job, not just helping your DH, but making sure you were constantly in the loop to alleviate your anxiety.

Yes WW I echo what everyone has said. The NHS is wonderful. We, too, had excellent help from them over NewYear. People usually gripe about the minor things like long waits in outpatients, and cancelled non-emergency ops which, though very frustrating, are not life-threatening. Your case was handled with the urgency it deserved and it's good that you are writing to thank the unit. I like to offer praise where it's due too. Stents are great and a wonderful discovery. You get some rest too, as this is a very draining time for you.

Heavens - what a night! So good to hear that NHS came up trumps - what a relief.

Years ago after I had been blue lighted to hospital, operated etc and home again, I wrote to the ambulance service because they were second to none and I discovered that they rarely receive letters of thanks.

When one is seriously ill and in need of the NHS, it is second to none.

That is wonderful ww that is truly the NHS working at its best. I hope he makes a speedy recovery.

Yes praise the hospital and name it in your local paper or such. It sounds as though they looked after you both very well. I hope you are getting over the shock. Look after your self.

We are so lucky to have a brilliant NHS and must realise that we usually only hear the bad stories.

Superb service whitewave I think the hospital deserves to be named.
