I think I've worked out that the bloating and "gas" (to put it politely) that I've had recently is probably due to not being able to digest milk etc.
I'll mention it to the doctor when I go next month, but anyone else with this complaint, And do you take calcium supplements?

My sister has been diagnosed lactose intolerant. She uses soya milk in place of cows milk. Doubt she takes ant calcium supplements but then she doesn't always do what is good for her!

TriciaF Have you ruled out gluten as a potential issue? I only ask because it's something that I've recently discovered myself. My homemade soup was what finally alerted me to the bloating etc - I always used to put pearl barley in it. I did some researching and realised that all the foods that caused the issues contained gluten. I've been a gluten free zone for a few months now and it really has made a difference. It's a steep and surprising learning curve to discover what contains gluten!

I'm also a dairy-free zone and take supplements - a multivitamin + minerals.
