Got a call from my GPs surgery this morning the doctor is going to refer me to a cardiology clinic on the results of my ECG . Nothing to worry about but I'll hear from them in the next 2 weeks with an appointment.
I explained I'm away in 10 days and I shall be gone 6 weeks so could I have their number and if I don't hear from them in say a week I'll call to ensure they don't send details of an appointment during that time which will be wasted as there will be no-one here to open the mail and reschedule.
Apparently they have no phone number.
Or email.
Or even an option to send a messenger pigeon.
So the odds are , the appointment letter will arrive after I have left and will be for an appointment during the period I'm away. So I will waste a perfectly good appointment that someone else could use.
Am I wrong to think that's a ridiculous way to run things?
