Walking Aids

I have a very painful knee caused by severe arthritis that means I cant walk very well, so, I decided to get one of those walking aids with wheels on, but I don't know which to get as I see some have three wheels and others have four. I would be glad of any advice from the forum from people with experience of these aids.

Hi mags my Aunt found having one with a seat helped as she could park herself when queuing.

You really need to get professional advice here. Many can be quite dangerous as if you lose balance or trip, they will forge ahead and take you with them.

I agree with Granjura but when you do find one, I also agree with glassortwo.

My aunt used one and it had a seat which she found very useful. I know that she did not buy it- the only place she would have visited was her GP surgery so they may have arranged an assessment. She was very frail and could not have managed without it.

Would a mobility scooter not be better for you? I'm thinking of getting one so that I can get out a bit more than I do and don't struggle like I do when needing to sort things out, like in town etc. flowers

My mother has a "rollator " which is a push along with seat as said by glassortwo. They are very handy and also have breaks in case it runs away with you smile
