Well, tried once again to sleep. No good. My feet feel like they are burning inside, not outside but very swollen still outside. So got up as it was too hot upstairs, put my fan on and sprayed them with Avon Skin so Soft body oil to give them moisture. The itching came back too so taken anti histamine, hope that works. Can anyone please suggest any other lotions or creams to help the tightness and soreness of my feet as they yo yo up and down in water retention?

Rubylady how long has this been going on..? Short term or not? Short term and clears up probably nothing...ongoing it may be Neuropathy. ..a GP can probably help you...or maybe not as my Gp's seem to know very little I am afraid.

I have this problem Ruby but mine is caused by chemo. I have been given a cream by the hospital so it may be only available on prescription. The cream is called PLIAZON and it works. Hope you can get some relief.

Have you been prescribed diuretics ?

Hi, the burning only started last night but the itching has been for about a month. It get exhausting when it is overnight and it takes til about 8 am before I get some peace from it and can then sleep. I am on diuretics but have been for some time now so it probably isn't that. I have lost faith in doctors. I am fed up with feeling so ill with things and even though I have told the doctors many times and the ones before moving here, all they do is throw medication my way and I go away once again to suffer for another day. I have had my fill of them to be honest. Harrigran thanks for the name of your cream and if the burning carries on then I will see someone and get some of it if I can.

I am using anti histamines just now and kalms. smile

My brother had the problem after chemo. Drove him nuts (he wasn't offered any creams, etc)...so he got some small towels and held them under the cold tap, squeezed them out and wrapped them around his feet for a good night's sleep (obviously you need so waterproofing on the end of the bed). Worth a try - and good luck!

Hot water bottle filled with cold water.

Rather than keep trying solutions I would suggest getting a blood glucose check just in case you are missing a significant cause.

Before I got the cream I used Aveeno moisturiser applied liberally and wore little cotton socks. I also lay with my feet on cool blocks, just the ones I use in the cool bag for picnics and they were quite soothing. You do need to get on top of it, they told me if I didn't treat it I could be left with permanent nerve damage.
