Acid reflux - acid going down

I have been diagnosed with acid reflux, but I dont have any burning sensation at all.
In my case I have had pains in my tummy for 9 days.
The nurse practioner[another story] said that sometimes that can happen, instead of the acid going up, it goes down.

Has that happened to anyone else?

I have had a read of about 3 threads on gransnet about acid reflux, but I cant find anywhere that it has happened to others like that.

No need to spend money. All my 'miracle' remedies have been prescribed by hospital consultants and as I'm so ancient they are all free...for now.

Update. I saw the nurse practioner this morning. As soon as I walked in the door, she was ready to take my blood! She took 1 vial, and said she was testing for the H Pyloi bacteria, and the result whould be known on friday. If it is that, I will be put on antibiotics. If it is not that, to stay on the pill and gaviscon that I am on, and see her again when 4 weeks are up[another 2i/2 weeks away].
I think I will wait for the result on friday, and then decide what to do.

I did ask her to explain about the acid thing again, but I didnt understand it much better than last time.
I did say that my abdomen is not right, but the pain is about 3/4 better. I also tried to say that my pain is not where she pointed to[stomach or osephogus] but she didnt take any notice of that.
It did occur to me that perhaps I have referred pain?

I just thought I would send an update, as some posters like updates.

Thanks for your help thus far.

Hi obi I have been wondering how you were getting on re the 'dreaded nurse visit'
I think that it is a good that you have had a blood test even if doesn't show anything up it can still rule out other things.
All so the meds may be helping if the pain is 3/4 better.
Have also provided a Urine sample?
At our surgery after (I think) a week you can call them and ask about your blood test.
Would it be possible to make a DRs appointment for a weeks time In case you are no better and want to discuss with your GP. Then if you are feeling better you can cancel.
The only time I had referred pain is with tooth ache. So I know it does happen

My OH suffered for years with acid re-flux and indigestion he wouldn't see the GP about it. A year ago he had an emergency AAA surgery and lost two stone in weight (his waist size went down 4ins) and his indegestion/re-flux disappeared completely. We were told that it was probably the pressure of his stomach weight that had been causing the problem and now he lost the weight no more indigestion.
I'm not suggesting everyone with the problem is overweight because skinny people suffer also, just thought it might suggest a reason for some people if they were thick around the waist.

Compared to the rest of me, my abdomen is a bit on the large size.
I had to look up what AAA is. Glad that it solved your OH's acid re-flux and indigestion!

I rang up for my blood result. It is not back yet.

I hope you get some results soon obieone, we are just glad the AAA was spotted and the surgery was successful, curing the indigestion is a welcome side affect..
