You don't say where you are bleeding from back, front sickness please go to the doc asap and ask for a second opinion if you are not happy with his/her care it sounds worrying x

Canarygirl you need to have a blood test for anaemia if you are bleeding and should be sent urgently for an endoscopy and colonoscopy to find out where you are bleeding from! I am quite shocked by this and hope you can persuade the GP to listen to you or go to a different one. Hope you feel better soon x

There are several types of antibiotic. I'm allergic to penicillin so another antibiotic is prescribed if I need one. I was always told to eat yoghurt if on antibiotics as the drug kills all the gut bacteria and some of them are good guys and need to be replenished.

When he says rest, does he mean a rest from the antibiotics or that you should rest? If this really is an allergic reaction then there should be treatments to damp this down. If your diverticulitis is active and causing problems then it would seem more helpful for you to get some active treatment for this rather than just rest, although I am sure that rest cannot be a bad thing!!

I would be grateful for some help after being left with sore internal workings from one end to tother after a really bad reaction to amoxicillin prescribed for diverticulitis. It has been many years since I have required antibiotics and dont remember a reaction like this. Seem to have heartburn and then further down all feels sore and bruised. On speaking to GP his advice was to rest for a month - I dont want to waste a month doing that - enough time has already gone past while trying to sort out the problem in the first place. Thank you for reading.
