Oh Bluebelle - re your doctor - I was waiting in the relatives room after a young friend had had a dreadful head injury - we were kept waiting for nearly 3 hrs before a doctor arrived, and uttered the immortal words "I/m very sorry to have to tell you ..... (at which point I was nearly sick) ... we may have to transfer her to another hospital " Unbelievable. I meant to write to the hospital when it was all over to tell them to brief their doctors better. It was dreadful. Also the only reading matter in that room was a booklet on how to register a sudden death! Great.

spoken to DH - nothing to do with xray - results not back yet so I think that will be ok. When he saw doctor as he NEVER goes near the place - they took bloods etc and did a general check and it is the nurse who wants to see him - not doctor - so I think we can safely assume they will talk about cholesterol levels. He is over 6ft, skinny as a rake and eats v v healthily so I doubt it is anything else. Our old GP had to take himself off statins as the side effect were dreadful - there is so much conflicting evidence on statins so I will be interested to see what they say. But rightly or wrongly I am relaxing!!!

Thanks - off to do some gardening and then surgery to have ears cleared - am almost completely deaf due to wax!!!!! Its very disconcerting and just adding to my agitation. Fingers crossed.

Once after I had had some hospital tests a doctor rang me with the results and started by saying 'do you want to sit down' he reeled off a few things that it looked likely I had however ten years on I ve never had any more tests or results or trouble and I m still here Always worrying but I wouldn't panic at this stage

The sooner he gets an appointment the sooner you will know. We cannot second guess good or bad news here.

his mobile is switched off - so i have texted him. Its just our surgery rarely rings with results - they leave it to us to ring them!! I know I am being idiotic. Just need to know its not something horrendous.

No one here can reassure you Gran he just needs to ring as requested a week would be normal for expected results they usually say ring after a week I don't think you can base good or bad news on that timing Hopefully he ll ring very soon and you know what's what
Good luck ?

Get DH to call surgery then you will know for sure.

DH went for x ray last week and was told results could take up to a fortnight. He has had a sore hip which he noticed after a vigorous game of tennis. (His mother had hip problems). Dr thought it might be arthritis but sent him for xray. So today the surgery rang and asked him to call them. Should I panic it is something bad? Surely if the result was really serious we would have heard before now? But it is exactly one week since he had it done? Reassurance needed please.
