I had a hysterectomy in February for prolapse. Mine went from just noticeable to severe in six months. I was asked more than once if I had sex and had to complete forms about my sex life. They only recommend stopping for a couple of months post surgery.

Thank you, interesting to hear that a pessary can work, my sister tried one but ended up with surgery which has been a success so far.

Do go and have a chat with your doctor.....I 'sat' on mine for months getting more and more upset about it. Dissolved in tears in Doctors surgery and was so surprised at the very simple solution that works for me. I have a silicone pessary that is changed every six months. It works a treat!

mazza I think you need a proper consultation here - is there a female GP in your practice you could consult or ask for a referral to a gynaecologist. There is no need to let this spoil your life and there are many strategies to make this better for you. Definitely get an appointment asap before you go away.

I've got a mild (undiagnosed) prolapse which I've researched a lot on Google. I'm going to try and improve it through exercise but what nobody seems to mention is ... What about sexual intercourse? Could it make it worse. I suppose I ought to go to Docs but getting ready to go and visit my son in New Zealand ...... This is my first post although I've been a member for ages. Would be grateful for any vJews.
