My husband had prostate cancer last year and radio-therapy has put it into remission. However, he now has blood in his urine and the cancer consultant said (rather than be referred by him) to get a referral from his GP to the urology clinic as that would only take two weeks. However, the GP says he sent the letter to the hospital on 17th January and although my husband has been chasing the hospital for an appointment he was told today that he is not on the system. He has been back to the GP and they are sending the letter again. He has tried to phone the urology consultant's secretary but can only speak to her/him if he has a password.
Is there any appeal we can make to anyone at the hospital to hurry things along? So far, he has only spoken to the appointments department. Any advice would be very welcome.
