Trochanteric bursitis

I had the cortisone injection too. Worked almost immediately and completely. However, I was getting twinges again a month later when I went in for my new knee (opposite leg). Since the op I've had no problems so the doctor was right that it was my the strain from walking badly with my wonky left knee which was causing the bursitis.

I would say the injection is worth a try - although it's not a very nice experience.

Chocolate is going well with an adjunct of white wine and a HUGE turkey dinner.

So painful Teetime! I sympathise with you,as I ended up with it. My doctor gave me a cortisone injection into the muscle and it was a lot less painful afterwards.
Nice chunk of chocolate doesn't do any harm though.

I'm quite sure CHOCOLATE won't do any harm so certainly worth a try in quantity and taken regularly to build up the benefits

Oh yes they x rayed both hips and knees. Does chocolate help? I'm going to try it anyway.

I was. diagnosed with this and given Ibuprophen , did not help but was given reassurance , tablets changed etc , now finally been see by Orthopaedic Surgeon and have been on the waiting list for a full hip replacement , get an xray

That's good news Teetime with rest it should improve. If not are they going to xray your hip just to make sure?
